Bet on Masters – 2010 Masters Predictions and Picks

It’s time to start getting serious about golf betting with the world’s best golfers competing this weekend in the first Major of the PGA season, the 2010 Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club. All the talk this week has been about four time champion Tiger Woods making his return to the game, but I like some other golfers to take the spot light away and get it done this weekend. Down below are my predictions and betting odds on the golfers who I believe have a great shot at putting on the green jacket this Sunday.

2010 Masters Golfers Predictions and Betting Odds:

Retief Goosen (+2000) – Look for the South African to rebound from last year’s performance in a big way. After placing in the top 20 in his last seven Masters appearance, Goosen missed last year’s cut with a disappointing score of +2. Over the last eight years at the Master Tournament, Goosen has finished in the top 5 four times including two 3rd place finishes in 2005 and 2006, and two 2nd place finishes in 2002 where he shot an impressive 9 under and his most recent in 2007 where his +3 performance was good for a second place tie with Tiger Woods. Goosen has gotten off to a great start in 2010 where he has finished in the top 10 in five of his seven PGA events this season. I think this 41 year old has a great shot at finally putting on that green jacket at this year’s Masters, Bet on Retief Goosen +2000 to get it done this weekend and capture his fourth Major Championship. A $10 bet on Retief Goosen to win the 2010 Masters pays $200 – Bet it now.

Phil Mickelson (+1200) – Mickelson has been absolutely dominate at the Masters in past years. In his 17 Masters appearances, Phil has put on the green jacket twice and missed the cut only once. What may be even more impressive is that Mickelson has finished in the top 10 in ten of the last eleven years, including his two victories in 2004 and 2006. Mickelson’s game hasn’t been the greatest this year, making only one top 10 in his 7 PGA events played in this year, but Augusta National Golf Club may be the place to turn that around. Mickelson has had success in the past at Augusta because the course suits his game, allowing for room to miss and still be able battle back with the short game and save par. Look for Mickelson to have another great Masters and be in contention to win it all this weekend. Bet on Phil Mickelson +1200 to win his third Masters. A $10 bet on Phil Mickelson to win the 2010 Masters pays $120 – Bet it now.

Lee Westwood (+1800) – Westwood hasn’t had the greatest track record in the Masters with an average finish of 35th , including his 43rd place finish last year after falling apart in the final round, and his 11th place finish two years ago. However, this year may be a different story with the addition of Billy Foster, a world-class caddie who is familiar with Augusta National will be a big asset at this year’s tournament for Westwood. Westwood has had a good start to the 2010 season, hitting the ball well and playing great golf, earning him two top 10 finishes, including his T8 finish last week at the Shell Houston Open. Look for Westwood to have a great weekend and put together four solid rounds and make a run at the green jacket. Bet on Lee Westwood +1800 to become the first Brit to win the Masters since Nick Faldo in 1996.  A $10 bet on Lee Westwood to win the 2010 Masters pays $180 – Bet it now.
