The Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens are headed to a game seven that will be played tonight, April 28th, at 7pm EST at the Verizon Centre in Washington. If you had told me before this series began that the Montreal Canadiens would make it to a game seven against the explosive President trophy winner Washington Capitals I would have thought you were crazy. But, thanks to the incredible play of Jaroslav Halak, and the timely goals of Mike Cammalleri, the Canadiens find themselves one game away from pulling off a huge upset and defeating the heavily favoured Capitals and the games most exciting player in Alex Ovechkin.
Halak made 90 combined saves in games 5 and 6 while only allowing one goal in each of these contests. Halak will need another huge game to give the Montreal Canadiens a chance in this decisive game. Anyone who has watched the series can tell that the Canadiens are outclassed, but they have been playing with a lot of heart and keeping the Capitals shots to the outside. One of these shooters is Alexander Semin, who has only 1 assist in the first six games of this series. Semin has to improve in game 7 and produce offensively in order to give the Capitals the best chance to win. Semin had 40 goals this season, but he has remained goalless in his last 15 playoff games. If Semin can perform the Capitals should win, but if he can’t they may lose and Semin will be known as a player who can’t perform under pressure.
Capitals vs Canadiens Game 7 Betting Odds:

Under 6 (-120)
Capitals vs Canadiens Game 7 Betting Predictions:
Moneyline/Puckline – The Capitals should win this game and I do believe they have a better chance to win than the Montreal Canadiens, but I just can’t justify betting on the Capitals with those moneyline odds of -330 or the puckline odds of -125 for a 2 goal win. I think the value lies in the Montreal Canadiens moneyline nhl bet with +270 odds. The Canadiens have found a way to win 3 of 6 games against the Capitals this playoff series and I think they could easily win one more. All of the pressure will be on the Washington Capitals and if Jaroslav Halak can continue to stand on his head the Canadiens have a legitimate shot of pulling off this upset. Just to be clear, I think the Capitals will win this game 2 out of 3 times, but since I think the Habs will pull out a win 33% of the time in this game, the smart bet is the +270 moneyline wager.
Over/Under – Bet the under for this game at -120. I’m expecting this to be a low scoring game where every goal is huge. Halak will bring his A-game again and I expect Varlamov to do the same. The Capitals will be playing very responsible defensively because they know that any slip up could cost them their season. The same goes for the Montreal Canadiens. Unless the Capitals power play finally catches fire, expect the score to remain low in this game, bet the UNDER 6 goals.
