David Reitspies vs. Jakub Nemecek Pick – Czech TT Star Series May 7, 2020

The Czech TT Star Series is back on Thursday after a scheduled day off on Wednesday. Wednesdays and weekends are off days for table tennis in Czechia. We had a winner in the TT Star Series on Tuesday with Tomas Tregler dismantling Jakub Nemecek for a win in straight sets. Yesterday was a Moscow Liga Pro day for us and that paid off well, too.

It was an easy winner on Sergey Kuzmin, as he swept Andrey Sadkov for a no sweat pick. Things have been coming relatively easily at table tennis for us the last couple of weeks. Our all-time record is up to 30-18 and continues to be the most profitable sport during the North American shutdown.

Table tennis is going to continue to be a focal point of our sports betting selections until the major sports return in North America. I’ve said all along that the 4th of July is going to be the best target date for baseball. It seems a start on July 1st is what is being proposed to the player’s union in MLB.

The union hasn’t received the proposal yet, so no word on what they think of the plan. Most of what has gone around the media the last couple of weeks has been a lot of smoke. However, this is something that is actually in writing now and going to be actively discussed. It’s only a start, though, so don’t get overly excited.

In the meantime, I will gladly try and build the bankroll on table tennis winners. There are about ten different ping-pong tournaments that are playing matches at the moment. It’s not elite table tennis, but you can find some quality players in the Czech TT Star Series and Moscow Liga Pro.

Tomas Tregler, Tomas Konecny, and David Reitspies are a few names in Czechia that are good enough to compete at some of the bigger international tournaments. Tregler and Konecny are both ranked in the top-5 in the country. Reitspies will be in action against Nemecek. The young Nemecek is struggling mightily in the TT Star Series. It’s highly unlikely he finds a switch to get his career going in the right direction soon. Head below for our free David Reitspies vs. Jakub Nemecek pick for May 7, 2020. This match is scheduled for 4:15 a.m. EST.

David Reitspies vs. Jakub Nemecek Prediction:

Jakub Nemecek predictably goes into this match against David Reitspies as a heavy underdog. Nemecek is the worst player in the Czech TT Star Series. He’d benefit from playing against lesser talent in a weaker tournament, but he’s stuck taking a beating right now. Necmecek is young, so perhaps in time he can improve his game and get on track. But as it is now, Nemecek is having a lot of problems at the tables.

He has lost seven straight matches and is 1-15 in his previous 16 outings. The win was a monster upset against Tomas Konecny by a score of 3-2. Konecny would have been heavily juiced in that match, but if you managed to take a shot on Nemecek that was a nice payday.

Nemecek has gone 2-40 in his last 42 matches for an incredibly poor stretch of matches. During this seven-match losing streak, Nemecek last in straight sets in five of them. In 13 out of his previous 15 losses, he has been unable to force a fourth set and got swept in all of them. It’d be a step in the right direction if he can make this match against Reitspies competitive.

History suggests that Nemecek will in all likelihood lose this one. Reitspies has gone 5-0 against Nemecek, including total domination in a couple of recent meetings. He won 11-6, 11-9, 11-3 and 11-3, 11-3, 11-2 in games on April 4 and 5. In three out of their five games in the past, Reitspies won in straight sets rather handedly. He should be able to do the same on Thursday, with a win in the ballpark of 11-6, 11-8, 11-5.
