Eagles vs Panthers Week 1 Odds

The Philadelphia Eagles will be traveling to Carolina to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 of this 2009-2010 NFL season on Sunday September 13th.  This should be one of the tightest games of the Week 1 schedule, as both the Eagles and Panthers have solid teams.

The Philadelphia Eagles made the playoffs last year as a Wild Card posting a 9-6-1 regular season record.  They went on to make it to the NFC conference championships, where they lost a tight 32-25 game to the Cardinals.  The Carolina Panthers took their division with a 12-4 record to make the playoffs last year, before losing in the divisional playoff game to the Cardinals.

Eagles vs Panthers Week 1 Betting Predictions:

Money Line – I am taking the Panthers on the money line with -135 odds.  Last year the Panthers were 8-0 in the regular season at home, and look to open up the season with a big win.  The Eagles didn’t do well last year on the road with a 3-4-1 record.  Carolina will be desperate to start off the season with a win at home after a disappointing home loss in the playoffs last year.

Point Spread – I’ll be taking the Panthers to cover the -2 spread at -110 odds.  A $110 bet on Carolina to cover the spread pays out a nice $100 payout.  I really like this pick and will be laying down a bet on it for sure.

Over/Under 44.5 – Both teams have high scoring offense so at first glance you would want to take the over – but in the first week most teams offenses aren’t completely on the same page and struggle a bit.  I like the under in this Week 1 game.
