Main Event Fight – GSP vs Hardy Prediction:

George “Rush” St-Pierre – 5″11 170 lbs, 19-2-0
Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy – 6″0 170 lbs, 23-6-0 (1 NC)

GSP has won six straight fights since regaining the Welterweight title in 2008, and looks to make it seven here tonight vs UK stud fighter Dan Hardy who is undefeated in the UFC octagon.  Dan Hardy is known for his knockout power with his hands, and is also a solid kickboxer.  Although GSP will be looking to take the fight to the ground, he is such a solid all around fighter that he will also keep control when they are standing up.  GSP must fight smart in order to keep from getting KO’ed, but that is something he seems to do fight in and fight out.  Hardy is no match for GSP on the ground, and will have a lot of troubles with his take down defense against on of the best in the MMA.

Interim Heavyweight Championship – Frank Mir vs Shane Carwin Prediction:

Frank Mir – 6″3 240 lbs, 13-4-0
Shane Carwin – 6″5 265 bs, 11-0-0

Two time heavyweight champion Frank Mir will look to get a hold of the Interim Heavyweight belt while Brock Lesnar is sidelined with an injury, but will have his hands full with an up and coming UFC star in Shane Carwin, who is undefeated in his professional MMA career.  Shane Carwin has heavy, heavy hands winning by knockout in his first 3 UFC fights.  Carwin has never been past the first round in his undefeated MMA career, and will be looking to knockout Mir early as well.  Mir will most likely be looking to fight on the ground, and he wants to tire out Carwin who has been tested deep in fights.  Although Carwin is known mainly for his knockout power he was originally a wrestler, which he will need to be sharp with when fighting Mir.  Frank Mir is the favorite in this fight, but I think Carwin is too powerful and has a good shot at an upset to remain undefeated and be named Interim Heavyweight Champion.
