After Selection Sunday, teams have very little time to prepare their matchups for the upcoming first round games, as well as preparing for any teams they may face down the road in the tournament. However, it is extremely important to take it game-by-game in a tournament like this, or you could be making an early trip back home. That being said, the East Region powerhouse Kentucky Wildcats will be the team to beat, as are the Big East’s West Virginia Mountaineers. It till be up the other 14 teams in the East Region to try and upset these powerhouses’, en route to a Final Four appearance in this year’s NCAA tournament.

East Region March Madness Champions Prediction: Kentucky Wildcats
Needless to say, the Kentucky Wildcats are the clear cut favorite to come out of the East Region in this year’s tournament. A talented bracket, however the Wildcats and their super Freshman John Wall have been too dominate this year to fall short in this year’s tournament. The Wildcats have been a dominant 32-2 on the year, beating Mississippi State in the Finals of the SEC Tournament this past weekend to solidify a #1 seed for this tournament. Freshmen John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins will hopefully lead this team all the way to the Final Four, and anything short of that will be a major disappointment for this program that has waited for their chance to once again be a powerhouse come March. Take Kentucky to reign supreme and come out of the Eastern Region of the tournament.
East Region Notes: Marquette (6) had a great Big East tournament, upsetting high-powered Villanova in the 2nd round, before losing to Georgetown in the Semis. Look out for West Virginia (2) as well, the Mountaineers defeated Georgetown in the Big East Tournament Final by a score of 60-58. New Mexico (3) was upset by San Diego State in the 2nd round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament, so look for the Lobos to be vulnerable for an early upset.
