March Madness Bracket Predictions 2010:
The Kansas Jayhawks are no doubt the favorite to win the NCAA tournament. Being ranked number one in the nation, the sportsbooks have the Jayhawks the favorites to win, ahead of the 3 other number one seeded teams. Although the Jayhawks have maybe the toughest region for a #1, North Carolina did last year and got it through it with dominating performances by their talented team. 3 of the 4 experts have Kansas winning the March Madness tournament this year, with the other picking Syracuse to take home the National Championship.
Many could argue the Kentucky Wildcats have just as much, or more, skill than Kansas, but the team is lead by two freshman players. Freshmans John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins will have a very tough task in their first NCAA tournaments. The Kentucky Wildcats are ranked 2nd behind Kansas by the sportsbooks for favorites in the March Madness. Experience is a huge factor in the NCAA tournament, but will these freshman players be able to keep their composure like they have been able to for most of the year? Only two of the experts have predicted Kentucky in the Final Four in their brackets, with one having them in the finals.
Duke has been given maybe the “easiest” road to the Final Four of any of the number one seeds. This Blue Devils team has been a regular favorite for the March Madness tournament, and are making their 33th tournament appearance as a target again this year, being a number one seed in the South region. Looking at the experts predictions it seems as Duke is almost a guarantee for the Elite Eight this year, but 2 of the experts have Duke being knocked off by Villanova in the South Region finals. There is no doubt that Duke has a good team and cannot be ignored for another Final Four appearance this year.
The Syracuse Orange are the last number one seed in this 2010 March Madness tournament, participating in the West Region that features some good teams. Syracuse comes into the tournament on a bit of downslide, being beaten by Georgetown in the Big East quarterfinals last Thursday, but finished the season with an impressive 28-4 overall record. Three of the four experts have predicted Syracuse to make the Final Four, with one expert having them win it all. If the Syracuse Orange do indeed make it out of the South Region they will have to knock off what will most likely be Kansas in the Final Four.
