NHL Predictions and Free Picks December 1st

Tonight, the 1st of December, features just 4 games on the NHL schedule, yet there is still opportunity to capitalize on some of this high-flying action. Tonight’s games available for betting include the Toronto Maple Leafs traveling to Montreal to continue the biggest rivalry in sports against the Canadiens, the Columbus Blue Jackets finish off back-to-back games tonight in Chicago against the Blackhawks, the Ottawa Senators are set to battle the NHL’s best team tonight in San Jose, and the Los Angeles Kings hit the road tonight to do battle with the Anaheim Ducks at the Duck Pond. Although there is only 4 games, there is still a great opportunity to profit from this high-flying NHL action headed your way tonight. NHL Predictions and Free Picks December 1st:

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Montreal Canadiens – The Leafs headed into last night’s action against Buffalo on an offensive prowl, only to be stymied by Ryan Miller as he blanked the leafs stopping all 38 shots fired his way. The Leafs failed to win 3 in a row for the first time this year. The Canadiens lost a heartbreaker to the Capitals in their last action, giving up a goal with 14 seconds left to tie it, and losing by a goal in shootout. Montreal is approaching their 100th anniversary, which will officially take place on Friday against another original 6 rival, the Boston Bruins. Both meeting between these 2 this season have went to extra time, with Montreal winning once in overtime and once in shootout. Although these games have been high scoring, I look for a change of pace as both teams have been struggling mildly offensively in their last games respectively.

Free Pick – Bet on the UNDER 6 total goals at -110

Los Angeles Kings vs. Anaheim Ducks – The Ducks look to close out a 7-game homestand tonight on a winning note. This stretch has seen them go an impressive 4-1-1, and the Ducks are 8-7-1 at the Honda Centre overall this season. The Ducks currently sit 5th in their division, 6 points behind the 4th place Coyotes, while the Kings sit 2nd in the Pacific Division, 8 points behind the first place San Jose Sharks. Although the Ducks are decent at home this season, they are a measly 1-3-2 within the Pacific Division this season. The Kings received good news on Sunday as Ryan Smyth skated for the first time since Nov 16, and defenseman Rob Scuderi is set to make a return tonight after missing the last 6 games with injury. I look for the Kings to take one from the Ducks tonight on the road.

Free Pick – Bet on the KINGS to win at +115

Ottawa Senators vs. San Jose Sharks – All eyes will be focused on Dany Heatley tonight, as it marks the first time he faces his old team since he was dealt to San Jose on September 12. Milan Michalek and Jonathan Cheechoo will also be facing their old teams for the Ottawa Senators. Ottawa scored with 19 seconds left to tie Boston on Saturday, only to lose in shootout, while the San Jose Sharks are coming off of back to back wins against the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks. San Jose is leading the NHL with 40 points, despite playing most of their games thus far on the road. San Jose is set to play 13 of their next 17 games at HP Pavilion in San Jose. I look for defense to play a big role in this one, while goaltending remains solid for both teams.

Free Pick – Bet on the UNDER 5.5 total goals at -115
