NHL Predictions and Free Picks January 11th

Tonight, January the 11th, is a little quieter on the NHL schedule with only 4 games to be seen, but still some good odds to be cashed in on.  Tonight’s featured games include the Pittsburgh Penguins traveling to Minnesota to do battle with the Wild, the San Jose Sharks make their way into Los Angeles to take on the Kings, and the Vancouver Canucks are set to play host to the Nashville Predators.  The only other game on the NHL schedule tonight sees the Colorado Avalanche visiting the Calgary Flames in a battle of the Northwest Division.

NHL Predictions and Free Picks January 11th:

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Minnesota Wild – The Penguins come into this one having dropped 6 of its last 8 contests overall, and look to avoid losing to the Wild for the 3rd consecutive meeting.  Minnesota has an opportunity to win its 3rd straight tonight, due to a dramatic 6-5 shootout victory over the Blackhawks on Saturday night.  The road team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two, which includes a 2-1 victory by the Wild at the Igloo in Pittsburgh on Oct.31.  I like the road team to continue the trend tonight in Minnesota.

Free Pick – PENGUINS to win at -130

San Jose Sharks @ Los Angeles Kings – Two familiar teams collide tonight in LA, as this is the 5th meeting of the season between these two California-based squads.  The Kings are 3-0-1 against the Sharks this season, including grabbing 5 of a possible 6 points this season in the Shark Tank.  The Kings sit just one point ahead of Detroit for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, and have won only 4 of its last 10 games overall.  San Jose is 1-4 in the last 4 meetings, while the home team is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.  I like the Kings tonight as a home underdog.

Free Pick – KINGS to win at +120

Nashville Predators @ Vancouver Canucks – This is the 3rd of 4 meetings this year between these two teams this season, with each team grabbing a win on home ice earlier in the year.  Both teams are coming off of 3-2 losses on Saturday night, with Vancouver losing in shootout to Northwest rival Calgary Flames, while the Predators lost to the Ducks on home ice.  The Predators are a strong in-conference team as they are 4-1 in their last 5 against the Western Conference, and the underdog is 4-0 in the last 4 games between these two teams.  Take the road underdog tonight in Vancouver.

Free Pick – PREDATORS to win at +155
