Thursday October 15th NHL Betting Predictions:
San Jose Sharks vs Washington Capitals – Both teams should be powerhouses in their respective conferences and are both stacked offensively. The Sharks have had some what of a slow start with a 3-2-1 record. The Capitals started the season with a bang, but have slowed down and now have a 2-2-2 record. Each team has three players that could easily all be in the top 15 scoring at the end of the year – Sharks with Heatley, Thornton and Marleau and the Capitals with Ovechkin, Backstrom and Semin.

Colorado Avalanche vs Montreal Canadiens – This is the Canadiens home opener game, making them the last NHL team to play its home opener. The Colorado Avalanche have come into this 2009 season surprising a lot of people with a 4-1-1 record. Avs goalie Craig Anderson has looked great this season with a 1.98 GAA and a .940 save percentage. The Canadiens (2-3) have looked good at times starting 2-0, but lost their last three games out west to end their road trip. The Canadiens should feel some relief playing in their home barn tonight.

St Louis Blues vs Phoenix Coyotes – Last year the Blues swept the season series winning all four games and only allowing 6 goals against. The Blues have started the season 2-2, with their two wins coming against the Detroit Red Wings. The Phoenix Coyotes (3-2) have been a surprise so far this season with three wins in their first five games. Scoring has been hard to come by for the Coyotes, but goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has been stellar with a 0.98 GAA in four starts.
