This is the second table tennis selection for us on Sunday, as we hopefully make it a 2-0 day in Russia at the tables. Yesterday was a success with our lone pick a winner. Despite COVID-19 seeming to pick up in Russia, there hasn’t been any indication that the Moscow Liga Pro will be stopping. However, if it does, then you know that things aren’t going so well in Moscow.
The argument made by table tennis organizations could be that there is ample distance between two players. It doesn’t take into consideration touching the same ball, and potentially wiping your face, though. That’s an issue. Despite being careful, a player could still touch his face inadvertently. However, Russia continues to play table tennis, and there hasn’t been an outbreak of sorts at the facilities.
Like I said previously, Czech Republic wants to begin easing restrictions and slowly reopening their country. The TT Star Series is unlikely to be in the crosshairs of the coronavirus. If you’re worried about completely losing table tennis betting, don’t worry because the Czech Republic and Ukraine would still be kicking if Russia has to suspend sports. The WHO is urging Belarus to consider implementing new measures in the country, but that is likely going to fall on deaf ears.
All we can handicap is what we have in front of us, and we’re going to continue to hammer away at the table tennis lines while they’re here. Don’t worry about the things that you can’t control in life, and we certainly can’t control what’s available in the betting market. If you look hard enough, there’s definitely still action to be had.
I continue to bat a couple of matches above .500, as has been the case all week. Not good, though not bad and I will take that when it comes to table tennis. Head below for our free Oleg Shagarov vs. Stanislav Bychkov pick for April 12, 2020 in the Moscow Liga Pro.
Oleg Shagarov vs. Stanislav Bychkov Moscow Liga Pro Betting Odds:
Oleg Shagarov vs. Stanislav Bychkov Prediction:
Oleg Shagarov is looking to build on a terrific day Saturday. If you had bets on Shagarov yesterday, then you did very well. He will be seeking more wins after riding a four-match winning streak going into today. Shagarov was on a roll, as he dispatched his opponents in quick fashion. During that winning streak, Shagarov lost only one set. He went 12-1 to dominate the opposition.
If we want to go a bit further back, Shagarov has gone 7-1 in his previous eight matches. Note that he swept the competition in straight sets in four of those wins. Since April 1, Shagarov has gone an insane 18-5 for an impressive streak this month. Bychkov enters with losses in four out of his last eight matches.
One of those failures was against Shagarov yesterday. Shagarov made easy work of him with a win in straight sets. He got the win 12-10, 11-9, 11-9, which was his fourth straight win over Bychkov. Shagarov is an impressive 6-2 over Bychkov. Feeling good recently, look for Shagarov to continue his dominance over this opponent on Sunday. I’m going with Shagarov to get it done for another win here.
