Red Sox vs Angels Game 1 Prediction and Line

American League playoff foes meet yet again this season as the 2009 Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels edition kicks off tonight in Anaheim, CA.  The first pitch is scheduled for 9:37 pm ET from Angel Stadium of Anaheim.  The Red Sox are turning to dominant lefty Jon Lester in tonight’s pivotal game, while the Angels counter with their big righty John Lackey.  The Angels snuck by the Red Sox in this years season series 5-4, but as we have seen in the past these two playoff rivals are both equally capable to win this series.  I look for this series to be the most entertaining of all the division series’.  Betting lines, predictions, and trends for this game are below.

Red Sox vs. Angels Betting Predictions:

Final Score – Boston 3 @ Los Angeles 5

Moneyline – I would take the Los Angeles Angels on tonight’s moneyline of (-105).  The Angels have the pitching as well as the offense and use home field advantage as good as any other team in the MLB.  There has been no shortage of playoff baseball in Anaheim as of late, and Angel Stadium will be rocking.  BET ON THE ANGELS TO WIN at (-105).

Over/Under – I like the under 8.5 total runs for tonight’s ball game.  Both starters have playoff experience and both are capable of throwing first game gems.  I look for the pitching to come out strong early, and the hits start to come in the middle innings once the pitch counts are raised.  Expect the bullpens to limit the runs as well, to keep the score under the total.  Bet on the UNDER 8.5 total runs.
