The Washington Redskins will make their way to New York for Week 1 in the 2009 NFL season to take on the New York Giants, who are favored to win the NFC this year. This September 13th game should be a dandy between two pretty solid NFC East teams. The Washington Redskins finished last in the NFC East last year, but had a semi respectable 8-8 record. The Giants went on to win NFC East in the year after they won the Superbowl, posting a 12-4 record. Redskins vs Giants betting odds and betting predictions are listed below.
Redskins vs Giants Week 1 Betting Odds:
Washington Redskins (+240)
vs New York Giants (-280)
Washington Redskins +7 (-115)
vs New York Giants -7 (-105)
Over 37 (-110)
Under 37 (-110)
Redskins vs Giants Week 1 Betting Predictions:
Money Line – There is good value on taking the Redskins on the money line with +240 odds (seems high for a Week 1 game). But, I think the Giants should win this home game (they were 7-1 at home last year) at -280 odds. Not much value on betting on the Giants on the money line, but if you think the Redskins can pull off a big upset you can get some value on that bet.
Spread – I am taking the Giants to cover the 7 point spread at -105 odds. Giants don’t lose much at home, and I couldn’t see them losing their home opener game. The Giants have one of the best defenses in the league and Washington probably won’t score more than 17 points. My bet is on the Giants to win by at least the 7 point spread.
Over/Under 37 – This game should be going over the 37 points at -110 odds. It probably won’t be much more than 37, but I couldn’t see this game going under. Eli and the Giants offense should be ready for this Week 1 home opener game. My bet is on the Over 37 for this Redskins vs Giants game.
