We’re back on the table tennis circuit on Thursday morning, as the Czech TT Star Series resumes with a slate of action. We went 2-0 on Tuesday with a winner in Czechia and Russia to advance to 5-0 in our last five table tennis picks. That puts us comfortably in the driver seat with a total record of 24-16 going into Thursday. The +130 winner on David Reitspies certainly helped us get over the hill.
David Reitspies has been playing extremely sharp table tennis recently and it carried over into Tuesday against a very talented Tomas Tregler. Tregler was stuck in a rut, but was able to get out of it after he lost to Reitspies. Both are very good players despite Tregler going through a cold stretch.
Tregler is scheduled to play Miroslav Horejsi in his second match of the day. His first against Jakub Kleprlik should be a tune-up for the rest of the day. Kleprlik is overmatched in that one. Tregler is most likely winning that match, though there isn’t much value to be had at -400. When guys start to dominate certain opponents, unfortunately the bookmakers catch up and throw out unbettable lines after people catch on to the trends.
It’s important to find the spots where oddsmakers are lazy to adjust. There are hot players that go on runs where there is some lag time picking it up. That is usually because the public will notice and start betting heavily, in turn, of course raising the price. Horejsi has been struggling of late, but could get a boost against Tregler on Tuesday.
It’s another day of work stoppages in the major sports and beyond, so table tennis continues to be one of the main attractions. I’ve been able to record a profit in table tennis, and that’s all that matters really regardless of what the sport is. It’s certainly been more profitable than the small soccer leagues. Head below for our free Tomas Tregler vs. Miroslav Horejsi pick. This match is scheduled for 5:45 a.m. EST.
Tomas Tregler vs. Miroslav Horejsi Betting Odds:
Tomas Tregler vs. Miroslav Horejsi Prediction:
Tomas Tregler went on a really ugly run, as he suffered six straight losses and failures in 10 of 13 matches. As one of the best table tennis players in the Czech Republic, that’s certainly not what you come to expect from Tregler. He was able to break out of the funk and get on track with a win against Horejsi on Tuesday. That led to three more wins over Kleprlik, Gavlas, and Konency, all three of which were solid wins against quality opponents.
He followed that up with two losses against Konecny and Reitspies, but they were both in five sets. The best sign was that Tregler fought in two matches that could have gone either way. His head seems to be back into table tennis after it appeared like he was not focused. Despite the cold run by Tregler, he’s still one of the best players on the circuit, and will likely give Horejsi a few issues on Thursday.
Tregler has a 4-2 advantage over Horejsi, with Tregler winning two out of their previous three meetings. Horejsi is currently struggling like Tregler was about a week ago. He’s a loser in four straight matches and is 2-10 in his previous 12 matches. With Tregler getting his game back on track recently, he should be able to get the upper-hand in this match. Horejsi hasn’t had much confidence, with Tregler likely taking advantage of his mistakes.
