Twins vs Tigers Line and Prediction for September 29

The red hot Minnesota Twins fresh off of a massive 3-2 victory this afternoon, begin part 2 of a day/night double header tonight against the division leader, the Detroit Tigers.  Game time is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET from the beautiful Comerica Park in Detroit, MI.  The Detroit Tigers send ace and CY Young candidate Justin Verlander to the hill tonight, while the Twins counter with lefty Brian Duensing.  After dropping a critical game this afternoon, the Tigers are in jeopardy of giving up the division lead for the first time since early May.  It is a must-win for both squads tonight, with Detroit only holding a 1-game lead in the AL Central.

Twins vs. Tigers Betting Predictions:

Final Score Prediction – Twins 1 @ Detroit 5

Runline/Moneyline – I would take the Detroit Tigers on tonight’s runline at (+115).  I look for the Tigers offense to perk up in the night cap of the double header this evening.  I also look for Verlander to give a Cy Young performance, keeping the Twins offense to a standstill. I would not take the Tigers on the moneyline however, because (-165) does not give me enough value against a surging Minnesota Twins ball club.  Stick with the value by betting on the Tigers on the runline.

Over/Under – I like the under 8 total points in tonights ball game.  I look for Justin Verlander to dominate the Twins lineup for a minimum of 7 innings.  Minnesota’s Brian Duensing will cause Detroit manager Jim Leyland to juggle his lineup, bringing in some extra right-handed power from his bench.  Look for the Tigers to score early, but not often, while the Twins struggle to catch up to the 95-100 mph fastball from Justin Verlander.  Take the under in tonight’s game.
