Most players in the Moscow Liga Pro will play three scheduled matches on Monday. Some days they might play up to eight matches in a day, so by all accounts Monday is a slow day for table tennis in Russia. We were 2-0 with our Russian table tennis picks on Easter Sunday. It was a good day and we’ll be looking for another positive day on Monday. There isn’t as much of a menu today, but hopefully we can make the most of it and find some more winners.
Table tennis has become the sport of choice for sports bettors during this pandemic. With William Hill in Nevada reporting an average of over $100,000 wagered per day, table tennis is the most wagered sport. The examplation is rather simple: there is a match nearly every hour of the day, whether it’s in the morning, afternoon, or evening. If there are odds available, then there are going to be people to bet it.
The way I see it, if I can handicap a contest, then there might be an opportunity to profit. The only league I haven’t been able to get a firm grasp on thus far is the Belarusian Premier League. Contrary to previous years, parity is pretty tight early on in their season and anybody can beat anybody. With table tennis, I’m up slightly with a record of 17-13. The A-League and AFL in Australia were kind to us, though that ended as soon as I was going on a roll. The situation is improving in Australia, though the country is not going to jump right back to sports.
There are still sports in the US; however, for that you have to turn to horse racing. Horse racing isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, though it can be entertaining and you can pad the bankroll if you’re lucky. That’s been a positive endeavor for us at The Sports Geek. We’ll look to extend our winning streak at table tennis on Monday. Valery Ivanov and Aleksandr will be at the table at approximately 5:30 a.m. EST. That’s where we’ll be looking for a winner today. Head below for our free Moscow Liga Pro pick for April 13, 2020.
Valery Ivanov vs. Aleksandr Volkov Moscow Liga Pro Betting Odds:
Valery Ivanov vs. Aleksandr Volkov Prediction:
There are a couple of Ivanov’s in the Moscow Liga Pro, with Viktor Ivanov another familiar face on the circuit. This Ivanov, Valery, spends his time between the Moscow Open and Moscow Liga Pro. He mostly competes in the Moscow Open, so he’s not a regular to this league. Aleksandr Volkov is, though, and this will be the first time that Ivanov and Volkov play against one another. I’ve faded Volkov a couple of times in the past, but that was against superior opponents. Ivanov is scheduled to play only two matches on Monday.
He comes into Monday after losing three straight matches in the Moscow Open. He also holds a record of 7-14 in his previous 12 matches. Maybe he can find better success in the Liga Pro today. However, the last time he played in this league, Ivanov was mediocre with a record of 2-3 on February 11. Prior to that, Ivanov went 1-3 in the Liga Pro on October 15, 2019. It hasn’t seemed to matter where he’s been. Ivanov has been struggling regardless.
He faces an opponent on Monday who has been playing well recently.Volkov goes into Monday on a three-match win streak, with two straight wins in straight sets. He beat Vladimir Safonov back-to-back by scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-8, and 11-6, 11-5, 12-10. Volkov owns a record of 10-4 in his previous 14 matches for a fairly nice run. It’s likely that he can stay hot against Ivanov on Monday. He doesn’t appear to be a strong enough opponent to spoil his day. Volkov looks like a solid option for a bet in the Moscow Liga Pro on Monday. Match time is scheduled for 5:30 a.m. EST.
