Two high-powered offenses collide in New Orleans on Sunday, January 24th as the Minnesota Viking and New Orleans Saints will battle for the NFC Championship. Kickoff time is set for 6:40 ET and can be seen on FOX. Both of these squads are coming off of very impressive victories last week. The Viking routed in the Cowboys at home last Sunday by a score of 30-3, while the Saints overcame a very early deficit to thump the Arizona Cardinals 45-14 in New Orleans. While both offenses have been spectacular this season, this game may very well come down to which defense can play the best. The Saints defense allows about 50 more yards per game than that of the Vikings, and average about 2 more points against per game than the Vikings. The Saints will be looking to stop DE Jared Allen in order to give Drew Brees enough time to expose to questionable Vikings’ secondary. The Vikings will need RB Adrian Peterson to out-duel fellow RB Reggie Bush on the ground to keep the Saints defense guessing on every play. These two teams did not play this season, however Minnesota knocked off New Orleans 30-27 in week 5 of last season. This NFC Championship game between the Vikings and Saints promises to be a good one — below we have listed the betting spread, lines, odds, trends, and our personal predictions for the game.

Vikings vs. Saints Predictions:
Final Score – Saints 35 Vikings 28
Spread Prediction – Take the SAINTS to cover the 3.5 point spread. The New Orleans offense was clearly impressive last Sunday, however it was their defense who gave them a chance to win. After allowing an early touchdown, the Saints defense buckled down and only gave up 7 more points in the final 55 minutes of the football game. Both offenses should feed on the opposing defense, but Adrian Peterson has not been his true self in the second half of the NFL season, and was unimpressive in last week’s victory over Dallas. On the other hand, Reggie Bush had over 200 all-purpose yards last Sunday, and helped his team dominate the Cardinals defense. Bet the SAINTS on the spread.
Over/Under Prediction – Take the OVER 53 total points. These two combined for 78 points in their victories last week, and it came as a surprise to few. OVER is 4-0-1 in the Saints last 5 playoff games, and 4-1 in the Saints last 5 January games. OVER is also 8-2 in the Vikings last 10 games as a road underdog. Look for lots of points this Sunday from New Orleans.
