British Open Odds 2010 for Betting

The 2010 British Open starts tomorrow (Thursday July 15th 2010) and I can’t wait to watch the action. This year the Open is going to be played on the old course at St. Andrews Golf Course and it should be interesting. Another factor that may come into play this weekend is the weather, as it’s been raining most of the week in Scotland.

I’ve just taken a look at the weather report for the rest of the week and things don’t look very promising. Tomorrow looks like it’s going to be the best day on the course with light rain, but the rest of the weekend is suppose to have heavy showers. With the rain and wind blowing all over the course, it’s going to take a special effort from the golfers if they hope to win the coveted title.

Last year at the 2009 British Open, Stewart Cink managed to beat Tom Watson in a playoff hole. Although Cink walked away with the Claret Jug, Watson put on a spectacular show for everyone watching. If Tom had won the playoff hole he would have became the oldest golfer to ever win the British Open. is giving visitors a special $250 Free Bonus – Learn More

This year will mark the 150th anniversary of the British Open, which is incredible. I’m really glad that the tournament is going to be played on the old course to mark this milestone for the British Open. The last time the tournament was played on the old course was in 2005 and if you can remember, Tiger Woods walked away victorious.

2010 British Open Odds & Predictions

There are going to be a total of 156 golfers that are playing in the 2010 British Open and they’re all going to be fighting for their chance at glory. We’re going to take a look at a few of the golfers that we feel present the most value and have the best shot at winning the Open this year.

Tiger Woods +400

Tiger Woods needs to try and earn his first victory of the year. Woods hasn’t been completely out of it this year, as he’s finished 4th in both the Masters and US Open. The reason why I think Woods has a great chance of winning this weekend is because he’s won the British Open in 2000 and 2005, which is the last two times the tournament has been played on the old course at St. Andrews. Lee Westwood +1500

Lee Westwood should be on everyone’s radar this weekend at the British Open. One thing I don’t like is that Lee hasn’t been able to clinch his first major title yet although he has come very close. He has finished in the top three in several major tournaments and this includes last year’s British Open.

Phil Mickelson +1000

I really don’t see that much value betting on Mickelson this weekend for one simple reason. Phil has never done well in the UK and has never won the British Open even though he’s played in 14 of them.

Ernie Els +1500

You may not expect to find Ernie Els on my list of contenders this weekend, but he’s been on fire this year. Els has already won two championships this year and he’s hoping to make it a third in St. Andrews. Ernie has had success on the old course where they’ll be playing this year and I think there is a lot of value in him. Ernie is an excellent bet, click here to bet on Els to win the 2010 British Open!
