PGA Championship Odds and Predictions – Bet on PGA Championship

Golf fans get excited! Tomorrow kicks off the first round of the 92nd PGA Championship, and it should be a dandy. The PGA Championship is being played at the Straits Course of the Whistling Straits complex which is located in Haven, Wisconsin. The last time a major was held at the Whistling Straits was back in 2004 for the PGA Championship, where Vijay Singh walked away with the championship title.

Last week the majority of the field played in the Bridgestone Invitational tournament, which saw Hunter Mahan win by two strokes on Sunday with a 12 under-par score.  Mahan has not won a major championship, but after his solid performance last weekend odds makers have him sitting 8th on the list at +3500.  The talk of the tournament was Tiger Woods, who shot 18 over par in a tournament in which he was favored to win.  Not surprisingly odds makers continue to  list Tiger, who has four PGA Championship titles,  amongst one of the favorites, as he is listed second with +1350 odds.  Phil Mickelson comes in a top the field at +1250 listed odds to win this years 2010 PGA Championship tournament.

One thing is for sure – this years tournament will be very exciting to watch, get your bets in before the tournament starts at Sportsbook.com (if you don’t get your bets in before the tee off you can always bet after each round).

PGA Championship Predictions:

Phil Mickelson @ +1250 – We are getting a pretty good price here at +1250 on lefty, who is definitely one of 2010’s top golfers.  The PGA Championship is one of the two majors Phil has won, winning back in 2005, and he is very capable of being on top come Sunday.  Mickelson had a solid outing at the Bridgestone, except for Sunday, where he shot a 78.  Look for Phil to bounce back, every $10 bet on Phil pays $125!

Rory McIlroy @ +1600 – Rory coming off a top ten finish at Firestone last weekend, has swung the sticks great all year.  Along with his win at Quail Hollow, McIlroy also had a T-3 at the British Open, which he could have easily won.  This young kid should be in the mix of things come the final round and is definitely worth a serious look for the PGA Championship this weekend.  Every $10 bet on Rory pays $160!

Jeff Overton @ +5500 – This young American golfer (27) is coming off a top 10 performance at the Bridgestone last weekend, after a heartbreaking weekend.  Heading into Sunday with the lead at the Greenbrier Classic, Stuart Appleby shot a 59 to beat Jeff by a single stroke.  Overton also had a T-11 at The Open Championship at St. Andrews earlier this summer.  Jeff is playing solid golf as of late and at +5500 odds I really like the value.  Every $10 bet on Jeff Overton pays $550!
