The Tour travels from Texas to Ohio this week for The Memorial tournament. The tournament this week is played on a course designed by Jack Nicklaus. With the beautiful course and the fact the tournament is hosted by one of the greatest golfers of all time, we have a terrific field. Last week Keegan Bradley obtained his 1st PGA Tour victory. Could a rookie do it again this week? Let’s break down the course and the field to see.
Muirfield Village Golf Club is the host for this weeks Memorial tournament. The course has been slightly altered over the year by Jack Nicklaus to keep up with the ever-changing game. One thing that does not need any altering on this course is the greens. Muirfield is home to some of the most challenging greens on Tour. With massive undulations and a large area to cover, players will be forced with many difficult two putts.
Muirfield also will challenge the players to hit the Green in Regulation. With tight fairways, and plenty of bunkers and water, the professionals will have their hands full this week. Look for players to hit some 3 woods to keep the ball in play on the tight winding holes. The course is 7265 yards and plays to a Par of 72, so length is not an issue.
Six of the Top Ten players in the world will be present this week for Jacks tournament. Recently named top player in the world (Luke Donald) will be in attendance along with many of the top names including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Nick Watney.
Last year Justin Rose won by 3 shots over youngster Rickie Fowler. Both are back in the field this week and will be challenged by the course and a strong field once again.

Were out to get a winner this week and have the accounts full for the upcoming US Open (June 16th-19th)!
Matt Kuchar –18/1– arguably the best all around golfer on the planet. Matt seems to do everything right on a golf course and seems to always be near the top of the leader board. He has finished inside the Top 10 at The Memorial in each of the last 3 years. Coming off a tie for 6th in last week’s event, look for Matt to once again challenge at Jacks tournament. He is still without a win in 2011, but I think that could change this week.
Justin Rose –42/1 – one of my favorite golfers and a treat to watch on the course. The defending champion of The Memorial tournament will be out this week to try and hold onto his title. He made me plenty of money last year with his win here so why not go with him again. I have a strong feeling many of you will be chanting Rosey!, Rosey!, come Sunday afternoon.
Rickie Fowler –38/1– an up and coming star who seems to make birdies from absolutely everywhere. Fowler utilizes a lightning quick swing speed with plenty of torque in his body to hit the ball a long ways. His iron play is some of the best on Tour and though he has struggled a bit with the flat stick this year he is one of the better putters on Tour. He is still in search of his first win on Tour and Muirfield may just be that place.
