We’re back on Friday at Aqueduct Racetrack after the Thursday card was wiped out because of a winter storm. Just as soon as I submitted my picks, it came over me that racing likely isn’t happening because of the weather. As long as they can dig out at Aqueduct for Friday, then racing is likely going to be a go in New York. This afternoon appears to be sunny and clear, so poor weather shouldn’t be a problem.
BetOnline has a full day of horse racing action on Friday. There are ten racecourses available for wagering at BetOnline today. Aqueduct is the biggest track in action. However, Remington Park is where you want to go for stakes racing. It has to be one of the biggest days on the Remington Park calendar, with six stakes events, including the running of the $200,000 Springboard Mile. That’s the biggest race on Friday, and only the $200,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (Gr. 2) on Saturday matches it this weekend.
We’ll get started at Aqueduct on Friday, which has nine races worth a grand total of $477,000. Pay attention to the horse racing page on the TheSportsGeek for more horse racing picks today as well. Head below for our free Aqueduct Racetrack picks for December 18, 2020.

We will jump right into the feature race at Aqueduct Racetrack, which covers 6 furlongs on the dirt track. This is likely a race between Call On Mischief and Gone Glimmering. If Call On Mischief can get back to form, then a win is going to be within reaching distance. Call On Mischief has been inconsistent, with finishes of 9th, 4th, 1st, 6th in her previous four performances. He beat Tracy Ann’s Legacy by 5 ¾ lengths in a $50,000 event.
However, Call On Mischief was unable to follow up, and regressed in a $73,000 event. Call On Mischief will attempt a $84,000 outing on Friday afternoon. Gone Glimmering is in search of a hat-trick at Aqueduct on Friday after winning on October 16 and November 19. She has also won three of her previous four outings, and in 5 of 12 races in her career, Gone Glimmering has been a winner.
She beat Our Circle of Love by 1 ¼ lengths in a $62,500 event in October, and then recorded back-to-back wins in November with a half length win over Ujjayi in a $84,000 assignment. She has stakes and Grade 1 history on her resume, and has been proven to run well in this class. Look for Gone Glimmering to prove to be the best horse in Race 3.

Our next stop at Aqueduct comes immediately after the feature race on Friday. Race 4 carries a $28,000 purse for a mile of racing on the dirt. Cindervella and Lovely Lady Lexi should have a strong race and have something to say in the stretch. Despite winning just 3 of 41 races in her career, Cindervella has ran in the top-3 in four straight performances. She has gone 3rd, 3rd, 1st, 2nd in those four assignments.
Cindervella beat Finest Jewel by 1 length in a $32,700 event on October 15 at Woodbine. Woodbine is her home track, and that’s one of the lowest classes you can find in Toronto, hence a win rate of 3 for 41. Cinvervella came back on November 7 and placed 2nd behind Sparkle Sammy by 2 ½ lengths in a $33,400 assignment. Cindervella will be back down in class on Thursday for a $28,000 purse today.
Lovely Lady Lexi is on a massive heater with four straight wins since August 20. She is a winner in four straight events, with her most recent win on November 19 at Charles Town. Lovely Lady Lexi cleared Super Twenty Five by 2 lengths in a $20,000 race. This is a tougher race for Lovely Lady Lexi, but it’s hard to ignore her form right now. Expect this to come down to Cindervella and Lovely Lady Lexi in the stretch, with Lovely Lady Lexi having just enough for her sixth straight win.

Race 6 is our final look at Aqueduct Racetrack on Friday afternoon. This event runs for a $70,000 purse on the dirt across 7 furlongs. Munnings Muse and Beautiful Karen should be involved in the stretch, with a chance to get to the winner’s circle on Friday afternoon. Munnings Muse has finished 2nd, 5th, 4th, 3rd in her career.
She showed 3rd in a $70,000 event in her most recent appearance. Munnings Muse was 4 ½ lengths and a nose behind the winner in that race. It wasn’t a terrible run, but she weakened late and didn’t play much of a role at the wire. Note that the race was at 6 furlongs, so an extra furlong may not help her today. Beautiful Karen has appeared in four races as well, with results of 2nd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd for three outings in the top-2.
She was in good form in her latest entry, as Beautiful Karen was a nose behind Snicket for a $70,000 prize on November 21. Beautiful Karen was up going into the stretch, and late in the stretch, but was caught just in time by Snicket. She just needed a little more to get a win there. I will back her to close out the deal in Race 6 on Friday afternoon.
