Charles Town Selections for December 1, 2021 – Horse Racing Picks

There is a bit more on the card Wednesday, with Tampa Bay Downs and Delta Downs active tonight. West Virginia will have two racecourses available for wagering on Wednesday night. Mountaineer Park and Charles Town both have racing this evening.

If you’re waiting on stakes racing, then the stakes card will open on Friday. Oaklawn Park, which is good to see back, has the biggest stakes race with the running of the $150,000 Advent Stakes.

On Saturday, the $750,000 Cigar Mile (Gr. 1) leads the way. Aqueduct Racetrack has four stakes races, three at $250,000 and the feature $750,000 Cigar Mile.

There’s no stakes racing on Wednesday, but hopefully some winners. We have Turf Paradise and Charles Town covered this afternoon and evening. Charles Town has eight races worth $140,300 in prize money tonight. Head below for our free Charles Town picks for December 1, 2021.

Race 3 covers 7 furlongs on the dirt for a $19,800 prize. Test Me I Dare U and Creative Splendor are on my shortlist to win. Test Me I Dare U is 1 for 12 in her career, and has finished 6th, 1st, 7th, 3rd in her previous four attempts.

She defeated Tina’s Song by a neck for a $18,700 prize on October 16. Test Me I Dare U failed to follow up, finishing 7th on October 29 in a $30,800 assignment.

Test Me I Dare U came back most recently to show 3rd in a $17,600 event on November 10. Creative Splendor is 1 for 13 in her career, with a winning run on September 29 by 5 lengths in a $18,700 race.

The filly came back to show 3rd for a $30,800 purse, and then 4th most recently on November 19 for another $30,800 prize. The class drop back down to where she feels comfortable was needed. Look for a big run from Creative Splendor.

Post Time: 8:25 p.m. EST
Distance:4 ½ Furlongs

Race 4 covers 4 ½ furlongs on the dirt for a $14,300 purse. Buddy’s Run and Castle Five are big runners in this class. Buddy’s Run is 4 for 21 in his career, and has finished 2nd, 4th, 4th, 2nd in his previous four attempts.

In his latest attempt, Buddy’s Run placed 2nd behind Unyielding by ¾ lengths in a $7,900 assignment. Buddy’s Run finished 4th in a $22,000 race on September 26, so the easier grade helped.

Castle Five most recently beat Freedom Is Ringing by 3 lengths for a $15,400 purse. That was an impressive attempt. This was after finishing 7th in a $20,000 event on February 26.

Castle Five is staying around the same grade on Wednesday. This shouldn’t be the most difficult assignment that he’s going to see in his career.

(10) Adabel
+350 (7/2)

Post Time: 9:21 p.m. EST
Distance:4 ½ Furlongs

Race 6 is a $12,100 event covering 4 ½ furlongs on the dirt. I’d give Abadel and Wolf Creek Pass a look in this event.

Abadel is a one-time winner through 33 attempts, and has finished 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 5th, 4th in his previous six outings.

In her most recent assignment, Adabel finished 4th for a $20,060 purse. She finished 5th on October 7th in a similar class, so this looks winnable down in class.

Wolf Creek Pass is 1 for 11 in her career, and has placed 2nd in three straight outings going into Wednesday. In her most recent outing, Wolf Creek Pass placed behind U R the Lucky One by 2 ½ lengths in a $12,100 race.

She placed 2nd behind Urkillingmebeth by 2 lengths for another $12,100 prize. In another go at $12,100, she might be able to catch her break against this field tonight.
