Fonner Park Pick 5 Selections for April 15, 2020 – Horse Racing Picks

Fonner Park has been doing well despite having to close their doors to the public. They went through a very successful trial period a couple of weeks ago, and now we’re talking about a very big Pick 5 jackpot of $189,155 and growing. That will be carried over into Wednesday. It can be a tricky racetrack to figure out, but I’ve been able to pick plenty of winners at Fonner Park so far in 2020. A winning ticket on the Pick 5 would be something else, though.

If you’re new to Pick 5 betting it’s pretty simple. The first five races are taken into consideration and you must get all five selections right to take down the pool. Going with the underdogs is best if you want a monster payout, like somebody nailed at Gulfstream Park. A 0.50 bet turned into just over $520,000 in winnings the other day in Florida. Who says you can’t win at sports betting during the shutdown? Nobody else had the guts to select those underdogs and it paid off. Just don’t expect the wild underdogs to hit all of the time, though. We’ll see what Fonner Park offers today. Head below for our free Fonner Park Pick 5 selection for April 15, 2020.

A late afternoon start at Fonner Park will get us started in Nebraska on Wednesday. If you’re searching for the big payout, Tiz a Magic Man is going to be the first leg of your ticket. He is unsuccessful in nine races and hasn’t shown in eight of them. You’re going to need a lot of luck for that bet to come to fruition. In Side the Line might be a tempting option as well, but you’re going to be backing a horse that has failed to finish better than 4th in five races.

I think the one to consider is P R Streakin and P R Gold Play. This shouldn’t be a difficult outing for either of them, as they drop down in competition on Wednesday. They’ve had to deal with tougher competition in the past, especially P R Gold Play.

P R Streakin is coming off a solid performance on March 25, having placed in 2nd behind Creeds Revenge. It was an easy win for the favorite, though P R Streakin won’t have to deal with a horse like that today. The closest has to be P R Gold Play.

P R Gold Play has shown in three out of eight races. Finished 3rd in her most recent race on March 13 behind Miss Blue Rooster and Pr Something Better. Expect her to see an easier trip down the track at Fonner Park on Wednesday. With only one legitimate threat she has to worry bout in this race, I like the chances of P R Gold Play getting it done in Race 1.

There are ten options for us in Race 2 at Fonner Park. I think this is a race where you can avoid taking the favorite. It’s absolutely necessary when you are betting Pick 5 cards or you aren’t going to go very far. The majority of people blindly bet the favorites, so mix it up here and there. Jojogottago is your favorite according to the morning lines at BetOnline.

He has been inconsistent in the first six races of his career, but has managed to place in half of them. However, He’s also finished 6th, 4th, and 6th. In his most recent try, he finished 6th on November 6, 2019 at Delta Downs.

I will take my chances looking elsewhere. Big Time Player and Brave One likely have a better chance than the odds indicate at BetOnline. Big Time Player has not shown in five out of six career races and has yet to place. He has finished 4th, 6th, and 4th in his last three outings. That’s not going to attract money, but keep in mind that he’s been bumped down a class on Wednesday. That should help greatly.

Brave One has shown in five out of his previous eight events. He is winless in 15 races, but has been showing encouraging signs recently. Might not be the favorite in this race, though he has a decent chance of winning here. I think he’s at least worth a shot at those odds.

Moving onto Race 3 at Fonner Park. If we’ve survived this long, it’s going to get pretty interesting in this race and hopefully the next two events. If you want to up the stakes and get a little daring here, you have a few options. Californiasummer, True Allegiance, Cash Tiz Wonderful, Intoxicating Kiss, Memories Galore are all going to net a big return, if of course the other five selections are correct as well. You can see how 50 cents can add up to a huge payout.

Intoxicating Kiss has to be your best play if that’s where you want to go. She has won 6 out of 32 races and has shown in 12 events. In her last six races, Intoxicating Kiss has shown in five outings. He is up against some stiff competition in Race 3 at Fonner, but has had a knack for always running towards the front of the field.

She might need to catch a break, but could surprise. The favorite, Kinley Cash, has failed to show in four out of her last five outings. She’s racing for a new barn in this one, so the idea is that she will see major improvements here. I don’t know if I’m buying it, though. You have to take chances when you’re betting the Pick 5 card, and Intoxicating Kiss seems like a good chance to take at the price.

Distance:4 Furlongs

A short burst is required for Race 4 at Fonner Park. This event will end at just 4 furlongs, with nine races dashing to the finish line. None of the big underdogs catch my eye in this race, but the horse starting on the inside rail, Spa Shackalacka, and the No. 7 horse, Beta Capo Song, are likely going to make bold bids for a win here. Beta Capo Song has made a nice career out of horse racing, with wins in 8 out of 39 events. He placed in his last two outings, and won in two straight races on February 22 and March 8. Beta Capo Song has won five out of his last ten races for a tremendous win percentage of 50% since March 23, 2019.

Spa Shackalacka is coming off a win on April 6, though that was the first time he finished in the top-5 since a win on Halloween. When he is up front he makes the most of it, but otherwise has fallen towards the back in races. He does have the inside rail out of the gate, which is helpful in these shorter races. However, it’s still hard to ignore Beta Capo Song here, who I believe is the stronger horse. Look for Spa Shackalacka to get out to an early lead and then regress late. Beta Capo Song looks like a good open to add to your Pick 5 ticket.

If we’ve made it this far, we would be pretty close to nailing down a sizable paycheck on Wednesday evening. It would be an incredible way to spend a Wednesday, that’s for sure. Spell Winder is the favorite according to the morning lines at BetOnline. Spell Winder has been finishing near the top recently, in four straight races placing, which dates back to November 15, 2019. She has a long history that began on June 19, 2014 at Arlington. Spell Winder has made 57 appearances since her debut. That has included 9 wins for a win percentage of 15%.

Innocent Storm’s career has been similar with 12 wins in 59 races. She has had a layoff, though, having remained in the stable without a race since last summer. That said, Innocent Storm was on a tear before getting a much needed break. She placed in nine straight races and won three of them. In 59 races, Innocent Storm has shown in at least 40 of them for a nearly 70% conversion rate. The odds almost look like an error at BetOnline. There’s no way he should be catching +800 on the morning lines. That’s likely going to change, but it will still likely be excellent value on the No. 6 horse.
