It’s officially February, which means it’s official Saudi Cup month. Knicks Go was listed as probable last week to go to the Saudi Cup, and it was made official yesterday. Barring any setbacks or injuries, Knicks Go will be in Saudi Arabia later this month. He will join Charlatan and Swiss Skydiver, who have already been confirmed. Other notable entries that might ring a bell includes Max Player as well.

Gulfstream Park is the most well-known track operating on Wednesday. The Hallandale Beach based racetrack that recently ran the Pegasus, has ten events on the schedule today for a total of $316,000 in prize money available on the docket. Head below for our free Gulfstream Park picks for February 3, 2021.

Post Time: 2:10 p.m. EST
Distance:6 Furlongs

We will get started at Gulfstream Park on Wednesday with a $22,000 event on the dirt spanning 6 furlongs. Eight horses are expected to run in this one. Lyrical and Infatuating, who are on opposite sides of the gate, should be horses to watch. Lyrical has finished 5th, 1st, 6th, 6th in her career, with a win on June 26 at the $41,500 level.

That was impressive for a 8 ¾ length win, but Lyrical struggled in the $100,000 Florida Sire Desert Vixen Stakes on August 1, and the $200,000 Florida Sire Susan’s Girl Stakes on August 29. However, this outing represents a class drop, and should work in Lyrical’s favor. Expect a nice performance from Lyrical in this performance.

Infatuating has finished in the top-3 in all four races in her career. She showed 3rd in three straight performances to open her career, and then struck in her latest outing on December 24 in her debut at Gulfstream Park. Infatuating cleared Starship Nebula by 5 ¾ lengths in a $29,000 event with ease. She had the lead at the ½ pole and didn’t face any trouble from there. This looks like the winner if she brings the same form to the party.

Race 4

(1) Highway Bound
+400 (4/1)
(2) No Que No
+350 (7/2)
(3) Nitro Time
+250 (5/2)
(4) Richiesgotgame

(5) Mr Tingles
+1500 (15/1)
(6) Etched in Stone
+200 (2/1)

Post Time: 2:40 p.m. EST
Distance:5 Furlongs

We will turn straight to Race 4 at Gulfstream, which is listed as one of the biggest events in Hallandale Beach today. Six horses are scheduled to run 5 furlongs for a $47,000 purse on the turf. Etched in Stone and Nitro Time should provide bold bids to get into the winner’s circle here. Etched in Stone is a one-time starter and a one-time winner.

He beat Buck Moon by 3 ½ lengths for a $22,000 purse on December 5. It was a nice start for this $150,000 colt. Etched in Stone was purchased for $150,000 in July, and was expected to win a $22,000 event. Now comes his first real test on Wednesday afternoon at Gulfstream Park. This is going to be tougher, but Etched in Stone is expected to run well again. Nitro Time has finished 4th, 12th, 1st, 1st in his career.

After racing up in class at Churchill Downs, Nitro Time was transferred to Gulfstream where he immediately found results. He won on Todaystheday by 4 lengths in a $29,000 event, and then came back for another promising effort on January 8. Nitro Time cleared Mr Tingles by 6 ½ lengths. He had a 5 length lead going into the stretch and was ridden out. For $120,000, Nitro Time is expected to produce at this level as well. I would side with the second favorite at 5/2 over 2/1 Etched in Stone.

(8) Awsum Roar

(9) Battle Cry
+800 (8/1)
(10) R Adios Jersey
+250 (5/2)

Post Time: 4:46 p.m. EST
Distance:5 ½ Furlongs

Race 8 is a $40,000 event covering 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt. Mon Petit Chou and R Adios Jersey should run well for the top prize in this outing. Mon Petit Chou has finished 4th and 1st in her career, with a win on August 22 following a debut in 4th. She was 4th in a $55,000 event, and then came back on August 22 to beat Dem a Wonder in another $55,000 race.

That was a competitive race with some good horses in it and Mon Petit Chou was able to figure it out. He goes into Wednesday off a layoff, having not raced since the summer. Mon Petit Chou has been timed at 48.60, 51.07, and 49.08 seconds at 4 furlongs prior to today in January. She was a $110,000 purchase in April and should do well on these terms. R Adios Jersey should be watched from the outside.

She made her debut on December 13, and looked great as a first-time runner. At only $12,000, R Adios Jersey appears to be a great bang for the buck. She won as a rookie without much problems, destroying the field in a $32,000 assignment. R Adios Jersey left the field far behind, as she won by 12 ¾ lengths over Queen Street. With a 5 length lead going into the stretch, R Adios Jersey was clear and the best horse by a mile. A tougher assignment awaits on Wednesday, though a similar performance would get R Adios Jersey back to the winner’s circle.
