Distance:1 Mile 70 Yards

The second race at Hawthorne Race Course is a mile and 70 yards for a $12,000 purse. Expect to see Chainmail and Close to Me close runners at the wire.

Chainmail is 6 for 24 in her career, and has finished 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd in her last four outings. She placed 2nd behind Close to Me by ¾ lengths on October 30 in a $12,000 purse.

Following that effort, Chainmail showed 3rd on November 21 in the same grade. The mare is expected to be close again with a chance to strike.

Close to Me is 8 for 30 in her career. She is looking for a hat-trick on Sunday afternoon. After a ¾ length win over Chainmail, Close to Me beat Bows N Lace by a length for a $12,000 purse.

In a rematch against Chainmail, Close to Me likely has it in her to earn another win.

Post Time: 2:25 p.m. CST
Distance:6 Furlongs

Race 4 is a $22,000 event covering 6 furlongs on the dirt. Summer Belle and Journeyist should be tough to beat in this one.

Journeyist is winless in five outings, going 3rd, 4th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd in her career. She most recently put together her best effort to place 2nd behind Green Bananas by 3 lengths for a $22,000 purse.

Another like that and Journeyist might be able to do a spot better on Sunday. Prior to that run, Journeyist showed 3rd in the same grade.

Summer Belle has finished 3rd, 6th, 3rd in three attempts. The filly most recently showed 3rd on September 10 at Arlington in a $30,000 assignment.

The class drop should help Summer Belle in this one. Her debut at Hawthorne after three outings at Arlington should be a success.

Post Time: 3:55 p.m. CST

Race 7 is a $14,500 event covering a mile and 70 yards. Look at Prince of Mayhem and Move On Over for potential winners.

Prince of Mayhem is 1 for 7 in his career, and has finished 2nd in back-to-back attempts on October 22 and November 19. In the first of those two races, Prince of Mayhem placed 2nd behind Draw the Line by 1 ½ lengths for a $12,500 purse.

Then Prince of Mayhem placed 2nd again, this time by 15 lengths behind Dream Keeper in a $22,500 race. Back down in grade, expect Prince of Mayhem to come much closer.

Move On Over has finished 6th, 6th, 1st, 2nd in four attempts. He beat Bonnie Dances by 11 ¼ lengths in an impressive display on August 30 for a $7,000 purse.

In his next and most recent go at it, Move On Over placed 2nd behind Maxmiliano by a half length for a $12,500 purse on November 7. He looked nice in his last workout on November 21 with a time of 48.80 seconds at 4 furlongs.

Move On Over should be the best runner in this one if he’s interested in going on Sunday.
