Post Time: 5:05 p.m. EST
Distance:6 Furlongs
Purse:$32,500

We get started at Indiana Grand later in the day just after 5:00 p.m. EST. This 6-furlong event is for a $32,500 purse on the main track. Boyfriend Material and Music to My Ears are the most likely runners to put forth a bold bid on Thursday. Music to My Ears is 4 for 18 in his career, with three wins in six races since July. After recording back-to-back wins on July 14 and July 23, Music to My Ears finished 7th, 3rd, 6th before getting back into the winner’s circle recently.

Music to My Ears returned on November 4 with a win in a $32,500 event by 4 ¼ lengths over Thatswhatithought. That was some excellent form, though for a horse that was bought for $400,000 in 2018, his connections were expecting a lot more out of him at this point in his career. Music to My Ears has been a money burner for them, but we could see him make some bettors happy on Thursday. Boyfriend Material will likely be his biggest threat in Race 7.

Boyfriend Material is on a massive romp right now with four straight performances from July 8 to October 7. He is looking for his fifth straight win on Thursday. This coming after a 1 ¼ length win in a $34,500 event in October. It was not a difficult ride for Boyfriend Material. He shook clear of the field in the stretch without too many problems. A similar effort should be enough to get back to the winner’s circle on Thursday.

Post Time: 6:35 p.m. EST
Distance:1 Mile 70 Yards
Purse:$39,000

Our next stop on Thursday at Indiana Grand is Race 10, which covers a mile and 70 yards on the dirt for a $39,000 purse. Nutty Train and Cash Logistics will likely be in contention in this one. Cash Logistics will have to fight through traffic from the outside, but fortunately this is a mile and 70 yards. Nutty Train gets the inside rail out of the gate, and could get the win here if he follows up on what happened on November 4.

Nutty Train was a 2 ¼ length winner on November 4 over Starspangledxpress for a $37,000 purse. He’ll need that effort and possibly a bit more to find another win today. That’s the good news, but the bad news is it was only his first good run since July. After winning on July 23, Nutty Train went 4th, 4th, 5th, 7th, 4th, so the win may have been an outlier. We will learn more today. Nutty Train will have to win to prove us right. Placing would certainly be acceptable, though.

Cash Logistics is 2 for 6 in his career. He opened hot with five straight performances in the top-2. That included two wins, one being the $75,000 Sagamore Sired Stakes on June 17. Cash Logistics finished 1st, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 2nd to begin his career. Note that four of those races were stakes events. In his most recent showing, Cash Logistics finished 5th in a $89,000 assignment on November 4. Back down in class, expect to see Cash Logistics to run a much stronger race against weaker competition.

Post Time: 7:05 p.m. EST
Distance:300 Yards
Purse:$16,000

Race 11 is a $16,000 quarter horse event covering 300 yards at Indiana Grand. It will be a sprint for the top prize in this one. Zooming Cupido and A Ruby Corona are likely worth paying attention to. Zooming Cupido is winless in 15 races in his career, but looked good in his most recent outing on November 11.

He placed 2nd for the first time in six outings. Zooming Cupido was clocked at 22.693 seconds to place 2nd behind Thats My Jess at 440 yards in a $17,000 assignment. This came after Zooming Cupido finished 4th, 4th, 7th, 6th in his last four races. Similar form from his most recent race should put him close at the wire.

A Ruby Corona is winless in ten career races, but has been competing in tougher races than the other horses in this field. He has participated in two futurity trials and three derby trials. After finishing 7th in the QHRAI Derby Trial on October 3, A Ruby Corona placed 2nd in his most recent performance in a $16,000 event on November 2. A Ruby Corona completed the 330-yard race in 17.410 seconds. It’s going to be close, but I’m going with A Ruby Corona to have the head bob.
