Lone Star Park Daily Double and Pick 3 Selections for July 26, 2020 – Horse Racing Picks

Lone Star Park Daily Double and Pick 3 Selections for July 26, 2020 – Horse Racing Picks

Lone Star Park is up and running after they had to shut their operation down for a couple of weeks because of a coronavirus scare. An employees test came back as positive following the first race a few weeks ago. That immediately stopped racing and the facility had to be vacated by the public. Lone Star Park was open to race fans then, and upon reopening in Grand Prairie, Lone Star is allowing the public to go bet and watch the racing. During the closure, personnel and employees in the backstretch had to go through new training and procedures. There haven’t been any problems reported at Lone Star Park since they’ve reopened. We’re going to get into a multi-bet card for the final three races at Lone Star on Sunday. Head below for our free Lone Star Park Daily Double and Pick 3 selections for July 26, 2020.

Post Time: 6:07 p.m. CST
Distance: 6 Furlongs
Purse: $75,000

Race 7 is the first leg of our Pick 3 ticket at Lone Star Park. Feel free to use Race 7-8 or Race 8-9 for your Daily Double, or both. Race 7 is the Valor Farm Stakes for a $75,000 purse. It will cover 6 furlongs on the dirt. Ima Discreet Lady and Shes Our Fastest are likely to get into a competitive race in the stretch.

Shes Our Fastest is 8 for 26 in her career with the majority of her entries stakes races. Her last five races have been stakes events, with finishes of 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 5th, 4th. Shes Our Fastest won the $70,000 Owner Appreciation Distaff Stakes on February 28 by ¾ lengths. She was expected to be a player in that race and she came through.

That’s the best form we’ve seen Shes Our Fastest in this year. Following that win, Shes Our Fastest finished 5th in the $75,000 Yellow Rose Stakes on June 14, and 4th in the $75,000 Lane’s End Danny Shifflet Scholarship Stakes on July 22. Shes Our Fastest is wasting little time getting right back out on the track to race. If that’s the form she brings to the party on Sunday in Texas, then Ima Discreet Lady is going to be tough to get around.

Ima Discreet Lady participated in the Yellow Rose Stakes and did considerably better than Shes Our Fastest. Ima Discreet Lady brought home the top prize with a 4 ½ length win over Silver City Trick. Shes Our Fastest was expected to compete for a win in that one, but really disappointed her backers. I wasn’t particularly impressed by Shes Our Fastest’s run less than a week ago, so it might be more of the same on Sunday. Look for another strong performance from Ima Discreet Lady in the Valor Farm Stakes.

Post Time: 6:37 p.m. CST
Distance:1 Mile

We have another $75,000 stakes race on the docket at Lone Star Park on Sunday. This race will take place on the turf over a mile, so this is longer than Race 7. We need both races to be correct for a Daily Double win and continue our Pick 3 chances. Sunlit Song and Redatory are going to be in the mix in the stretch.

Sunlit Song is 5 for 18 in his career and has shown serious consistency over the last year. Dating back to April of 2019, Sunlit Song has finished in the top-3 in five straight races, which included back-to-back wins last spring and summer. Since then, Sunlit Song has finished 3rd, 3rd, and 2nd in his most recent entry on June 14.

That outing for Sunlit Song was in the $75,000 Richard King Turf Stakes (Black Type). He was able to beat Bonjour Baby by 2 ½ lengths, but wasn’t quick enough to record the win. Since that loss, Sunlit Song has been picking it up in the morning with some successful workouts. Sunlit Song completed 5 furlongs with times of 59.40 seconds and 1:00.60 since that loss in the Richard King Turf Stakes.

We should see Sunlit Song in good form once again today. The horse that Sunlit Song failed to beat in that race was Redatory. Redatory edged Sunlit Song out by a head at the wire. He took over the lead at the top of the stretch and held that position in the stretch. Redatory got the win under strong urging from his rider.

It was the second straight win for Redatory after winning the Houston Turf Stakes on February 22. Redatory won easily by 4 ¼ lengths to clear Cowboy Bling. He was stalking from 2nd, like in the Richard King Turf Stakes, and then jumped in the stretch as the best horse. Redatory is 7 for 19 in his career, and is a winner in 4 of his previous 6 races. Expect another possible duel between Sunlit Song and Redatory, with Redatory earning another win over his rival.

Race 9

(1) Uncle Pat
+3000 (30/1)
(2) Guardsman Pass
+450 (9/2)
(3) End Zone
+400 (4/1)
(4) Inis Gluaire
+180 (9/5)
(5) Im Justa Bachelor
+350 (7/2)
(6) Dreadnaught
+1200 (12/1)
(7) Escaped
+3000 (30/1)
(8) Fast Lil Devil
+800 (8/1)
(9) Crazy Legs Hirsch
+1500 (15/1)

Post Time: 7:07 p.m. CST
Distance:7 Furlongs
Purse: $40,120

Race 9 is the final race of the day at Lone Star Park. Hopefully it is the final dagger for a Pick 3 win at Lone Star on Sunday. Race 9 is 7 furlongs on the dirt for a $40,120 purse. Inis Gluaire Ima Justa Bachelor will line up next to one another in the gate, and might see each other close to the wire at the end of 7 furlongs. Im Justa Bachelor is searching for the first win of his career after finishing 4th, 5th, 3rd, 8th, 3rd, 5th to open his career.

This event is actually a tick harder than his most recent performance on June 8. That outing was for a $34,000 purse, though it looks like he is much better suited for longer distances than the 5 furlongs he ran there. Both of the races he showed in, Im Justa Bachelor was running at 6 furlongs. This is a 7-furlong event, so perhaps that extra furlong will work in his favor. He has looked good in the morning in July, with recorded times of 50.20, 50.80, and 48.80 seconds over 4 furlongs. His most recent workout on July 18 was his best.

Inis Gluaire is getting a serious class drop today after finishing 6th in his latest race on July 8 at Keeneland. After races at Oaklawn Park for $60,000, Churchill Downs for $79,000, and Keeneland for $60,000, it was in Inis Gluaire’s connections best interest to drop him down in class. Keep in mind that this horse was purchased for $825,000 at auction in March of 2019.

By that metric, a $40,120 race at Lone Star Park should be like a warmup for him. In those three outings, Inis Gluaire finished 6th, 3rd, 6th. Lone Star should prove to be a much easier time for Inis than those three tracks I mentioned above. A poor performance here would be tough to swallow for those that invested in Inis Gluaire, but I think he figures it out and gains some confidence against this field at Lone Star Park on Sunday.
