Mondays are about to get a little more exciting for horse racing, as Laurel Park, Lone Star Park, and Mountaineer Park are all open for racing now. During the lockdown, Monday was reserved for Will Rogers Downs and Fonner Park. With more tracks getting things underway, and more to come in June, there will be a plethora of options for betting on the ponies. This will all lead up to the first leg of the Triple Crown on June 20. The Belmont Stakes is set for June 20 at Belmont Park in New York. We don’t know what the field is going to look like yet.
Everyone is waiting for what Bob Baffert is going to do with Charlatan. With Nadal out of the picture because of an ankle injury, Baffert might give Charlatan the greenlight. He wasn’t keen on racing them in the same event, so now with Nadal not participating, Baffert might opt for Charlatan. Let’s just try and find a winning ticket at Lone Star Park today. We’ll try and nail down the Pick 3 at Lone Star on Monday. Head below for our free Lone Star Park Pick 3 and selections for June 1, 2020.

Distance: 6 Furlongs
Our Pick 3 at Lone Star Pick will begin with Race 1 on Monday afternoon. This event will be for a $18,000 purse. The top prize will go to the horse that runs 6 furlongs the fastest. Moneydontspenitself, Got My Mo, and Swiss Minister. Swiss Minister has won 10 out of 43 races in his career, with back-to-back wins on April 10 and April 30.
He won by a neck over Red Clay Magic on April 10 and a length over Lewys Vaporizer on April 30. Swiss Minister went winless in seven straight races before getting the double at Oaklawn Park. Now this is going to be a bit of a tougher ask for Swiss Minister. It isn’t a huge increase in class, but he has some worthy opponents to deal with on Monday.
Got My Mo heads into this event as the betting favorite on the morning-line. He hasn’t won since August 18, 2019, but is a winner in 6 out of 14 races in his career. Got My Mo was on a roll then, with five straight wins from September 5, 2018 to August 19, 2019 for almost a full year of winning races.
Got My Mo has since cooled off a bit, but placed in each of his previous two outings. He finished 4 ¾ lengths behind Trapalanda, and then 2 ¼ lengths behind Thatsafactjack. Expect Got My Mo to run near the front in this race as well. Monydontspentitself is coming off a solid performance on April 23 to finish 1 ¾ lengths behind Freedom Hill.
There wasn’t anything wrong with his performance, but he just didn’t have the extra juice in him to get past his foe. On April 4 at Santa Anita Park, Monydontspenitself did have enough in the tank for the win, though. He won comfortably by 5 ½ lengths. Took over the lead at the top of the stretch and cruised from there over Papa Turf and Little Scotty. Overall, Monydontspenitself has won 5 out of 18 races in his career. I like him slightly over Got My Mo in Race 1.

Race 2 will feature 5 furlongs of racing for a $17,000 purse at Lone Star Park. Lebron J, Bee Bridge, and Pure Speculation look like attraction options. Lebron J for the value alone at +600 is pretty enticing. He has been unable to show, place, or win in his career yet, but he’s only four races in.
Lebron J had decent form in his most recent outing on March 14, but fell out of the top-3 to 4th. Pure Speculation was 4 ¼ lengths ahead of Lebron J for 3rd in that event. Recent reports suggest that Lebron J has been in good form in recent workouts, so he might be worth some consideration. Improved form from that race will be needed, though.
Bee Bridge drops a class after nothing went for him on April 23 and May 23. He finished 6th and 7th after the best start of his career on March 7 at Turfway. Bee Bridge placed in that race to finish behind ¾ lengths behind Money for Mischief. In five races in his career, Bee Bridge has finished 7th, 12th, 2nd, 6th, 7th. His drop in class should help considerably and put Bee Bridge near the front of the field at the wire.
Pure Speculation has been the most consistent participant in Race 2. He has finished 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 8th, 3rd in his previous five performances. Pure Speculation is coming off a fairly nice run on March 14 to show on March 14 at Sam Houston Race Park. He finished a neck behind Geoscience for 2nd. A run up to his standards should result in the first win in his career.

Race 3 features the second-highest purse of the day with total prize money at $34,000. It will take a mile on the dirt to complete this race. Little Mark, Solar City, and Wild and Golden should all be respected going into this event. The winner is likely one of those three horses. Wild and Golden is seeking easier pastures after failing to succeed against tougher competition.
He got more than enough chances to run at a higher class but was getting nowhere fast. Back down a notch, WIld and Golden has finished 5th, 10th, 4th, 6th, 7th, in his previous five outings. There wasn’t much of an option but to see what Wild and Golden can do at a lower class. That should help, but I don’t know if it will be enough for a trip to the winner’s circle.
Solar City is coming off the best performance of his career on March 18. He finished 2nd to place behind Kashears by a length. Solar City deserved 2nd in that outing, as it was clear that he was the second-best horse in that event. Drove hard from the ½ pole to get close, but came up 1 length short of getting the first win of his career.
Little Mark should be the strongest horse in this race after dropping down a class. This is after he was good on March 22 to finish 3rd behind Trinity Thundah and Flash of Silver. Little Mark has been in the top-3 in 3 out of 7 races in his career. His trainer is picking on an easy field in this one. Little Mark is not the strongest horse at Lone Star, but he should be able to handle this competition with ease.
