Parx Racing Selections for December 13, 2021 – Horse Racing Picks

There isn’t a whole lot of horse racing available on Monday, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t winners on the track. There are three thoroughbred tracks open for wagering at BetOnline.

December is slow during the week for horse racing, so this is typical. The leading stakes racing next week is at Aqueduct Racetrack with two co-feature events. The $500,000 New York Stallion Series is scheduled in New York on Saturday.

Post Time: 12:10 p.m. EST
Distance: 1 Mile 70 Yards

The first race at Parx is a mile and 70 yards on the dirt. Six horses are expected to participate, with Tactical Plan and Mucho Macho Eddie likely front runners.

Tactical Plan is 8 for 58 and has finished 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 1st in his previous four attempts. His last outing went well, with Tactical Plan beating the field by 1 length in a $18,000 assignment.

He placed 2nd behind Diamond Setter on November 9 in the same grade before the win. It was a good run, but Tactical Plan faltered late after losing the lead and edged out by 2 ½ lengths.

Mucho Macho Eddie is 4 for 18 in his career, and finished 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 4th in his previous four attempts. He placed 2nd behind Skipin On Orchard by 1 ¼ lengths in a $26,000 race, and then 4th most recently in a $26,000 assignment.

Despite running well in that grade, Mucho Macho Eddie is sliding down to $21,000 on Monday afternoon. I’m backing him to go back to the winner’s circle for the first time since January 27 on Monday.

Post Time: 12:37 p.m. EST
Distance:1 ⅛ Miles

Race 2 is a $19,000 event covering 1 ⅛ miles on the dirt. Scoop Dawg and Verrazano Bridge should be close at the wire.

Scoop Dawg is winless in eight attempts and has finished 2nd, 6th, 3rd in his previous three outings. The gelding placed 2nd behind Prince Champ by 2 ¾ lengths for a $23,000 race on September 15.

In his latest outing, Scoop Dawg showed 3rd for a $19,000 purse on November 15. That was a decent run. Verrazano Bridge should give him a big fight.

Verrazano Bridge is winless in eight races. He’s finished 5th, 2nd, 3rd in his last three outings.

After finishing 5th on September 3 at Woodbine in a $26,500 race, Verrazano Bridge placed 2nd behind Right to Strike by 2 lengths in a $23,500 assignment.

That was a good attempt and Verrazano Bridge showed 3rd on November 12 for a $17,700 purse. He’s probably going to be good for the top of the shortlist in Race 2.

+500 (5/1)

Post Time: 1:58 p.m. EST
Distance:7 Furlongs

Race 5 is a 7-furlong event for a $30,000 purse. This looks like a race between Aegean Sea and Peyton Elizabeth in the stretch run.

Aegean Sea is 3 for 16 in her career, and has finished 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st in her previous five attempts. She looked in good form in her most recent outing.

Aegean Sea beat Ambitiously Placed by 3 ¾ lengths in a $25,000 event on November 22. That was an impressive go after placing 2nd behind Pettigo Girl by 5 ½ lengths in a $25,000 race.

She is going to try a $30,000 assignment on Monday afternoon. Peyton Elizabeth should be there giving her a challenge.

Peyton Elizabeth is 3 for 12 in her career. She has finished 1st, 1st, 2nd in her last three outings.

On September 7, Peyton Elizabeth topped Cloud Skipping by 2 ½ lengths for a $25,000 prize, and then followed up by 6 lengths over Aegean Sea.

In her most recent outing, Peyton Elizabeth placed 2nd behind Dantastic by 3 lengths in a $30,000 event. Back down to $25,000 in a rematch against Aegean Sea, look for Peyton Elizabeth to get the advantage at the wire.
