Remington Park Selections for May 8, 2020 – Horse Racing Picks

After you’re done betting for the day at Gulfstream Park in Florida, there’s more horse racing in the evening in Oklahoma. Remington Park will present a card with ten races on the docket. If you’re new to Remington Park, they’re in the midst of quarter horse season in Oklahoma City. Yesterday we played Remington Park and came out of it with a profit after cashing Danjer in Race 9 at +250.

We were unable to get the sweep in OKC, but I will gladly take the profit and move on the next day. As usual at Remington Park, post time for the first race is at 6:00 p.m. CST, and the final race is scheduled for around 10:00 p.m. CST. That’s probably the best thing about Remington Park. Race times are convenient for the average sports bettor.

Most people are used to betting in the evening, so Remington Park provides that. We’ve become accustomed to betting events overseas with start times in the early morning. Remington Park gives handicappers an opportunity to bet at a reasonable time at night during the week. Hopefully we can have another winning day at Remington Park on Friday. Doing one better and going for 2-0 would be most ideal. Head below for our free Remington Park selections for May 8, 2020.

Our betting at Remington Park will begin at 8:15 p.m. CST on Friday night. We’re looking at a nine-horse field with a $15,000 pure in Race 6. Hope Shes Relentless and Lunas Glitteringstar are expected to get into this race tonight as the underdogs of the group. They’re both listed as +1500 on the morning lines. Lunas Glitteringstar will be making her debut on Friday after completing a few workouts in April. She completed 250 yards at 14.52 seconds on April 15, and then a week later improved a bit for 14.31 seconds.

Hope Shes Relentless made her first start on March 27 and did not put up a relentless fight at all. She finished 9th with a time of 13.857 seconds at 250 yards. Faltered in the stretch and couldn’t make it up in time. I don’t think either have a solid chance here, but if I’m going to go for the longshot, you have to take the newcomer and Lunas Glitteringstar. Hope Shes Relentless did not look good at all in her first race.

Perhaps Pillow Talk can show up and perform and do a few better after finishing 4th in her debut on April 2. She finished 4th with a time of 13.665 seconds at 250 yards. That’s better than what Hope Shes Relentless posted. Another upset minded quarter horse, A Pollitical Gal, will be making her debut outing on Friday as well. Her most recent recorded workout was about a month ago and she looked pretty good. A Pollitical Gal finished a 250-yard workout with a time of 13.92 seconds.

She might surprise in her debut race, but it’s going to be tough with Super Fly B in this event. He will make the second start of his career on Friday, and a good run at Louisiana Downs on March 1 in the Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity Trial. Despite 4th not looking that spectacular, he was racing against much better competition than what he’s going to see today. Super Fly B was clocked at 15.923 seconds at 300 yards, which is better than what finishing 4th indicates. If he runs that on Friday, it should be good for a win in Race 6.

Ten horses will be in contention for a $15,000 purse in Race 7 on Friday. Note that every purse is $15,000 at Remington Park today. Spotty Politics and Propellar will see long odds when they enter the starting gate. However, anything can happen in 350 yards, and quarter horse upsets happen here and there.

Spotty Politics will make his debut on Friday after several successful workouts in April. He ran 250 yards at 13.88 seconds on April 29, which is a record for him at 250 yards. Propellar is in his second start today after finishing 6th on April 23 at 350 yards with a time of 16.197 seconds. That’s not going to be good enough for this race either.

Miss Ivory Cloud, Charlenas Relentless, and Best of You are likely going to put up the biggest fight in Race 7. Miss Ivory Cloud had a nice outing in her debut on March 7, finishing 2nd to place in what was a positive way to begin her career. She ran a determined race to finish just behind La Ventaja with a time of 16.259 seconds at 330 yards. Miss Ivory Cloud will have to run 20 more yards to the wire in this one.

That should give her team some confidence as we move deeper into her career. Charlenas Relentless finished 4th in his first start on March 13 with a time of 13.417 seconds at 250 yards. 350 yards will be new to him, so that might play out to be an issue. All of his workouts have been at 250 yards or less.

Best of You is the most experienced horse in this field with three races under her belt. Not only that, Best of You has already participated in a stakes race, which she was able to win on April 18 in the Laico Bird Stakes. Prior to that win, Best of You won on March 19 by a neck over Cr Tale.

Her debut was pretty good, too, as she placed in 2nd on March 7 in the Oklahoma Futurity Trials with a time of 16.076 seconds at 300 yards for 2nd. She’s the most accomplished horse in this event by far, and I think +300 poses some pretty nice value in Race 7 on Best of You.
