We are off to Tuesday on the racetrack, where we have five tracks to handicap at BetOnline. The newcomer to the early week racecard is Indiana Grand. It’s an extra track than we’ve had over the past two or three months. That’s a welcome sign as we inch closer to the Kentucky Derby and the summer meets across the country. There is no shortage of racing during the summer. Indiana Grand is popular through the spring and summer.
If you are somebody who only looks forward to the Kentucky Derby and Triple Crown season every year, then that is coming up soon. It’s the quickest turnaround we’ve ever had for a Kentucky Derby. If you recall, the 146th Kentucky Derby took place in October because of the Covid delay. There were no fans at that race, but this year will have a little more of an atmosphere with people attending the event.
We have a Daily Double pick at Delta Downs for Tuesday, and also three picks at Will Rogers Downs in Oklahoma. Will Rogers has eight races worth a total of $131,340 in prize money. Head below for our free Will Rogers Downs picks for April 13, 2021.
Post Time: 1:56 p.m. CST
Distance:5 ½ Furlongs
In our first pick at Will Rogers Downs, we will handicap a five-horse in Race 3. Wirewirewire and Euro Step look like potential winners in this event. Wirewirewire is 5 for 37 in her career, with a win six races ago on July 21. In that outing, she beat Havingafit by 1 length in a $7,920 event. Wirewirewire has finished 7th, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 3rd. In her most recent performance, Wirewirewire showed 3rd in a $13,860 assignment. Back down under the $10,000 mark on Tuesday, some consideration must be given to Wirewirewire in this race. She is likely going to have a chance at striking in the stretch.
Euro Step has finished 5 for 34 in her career. Her best form in the last two years has been noted recently. She has finished 1st and 2nd in her previous two attempts, winning on May 13 in a $9,900 event by a neck over Final Design. She was unable to complete back-to-back wins, but ran another solid race on March 30 to place 2nd behind Lady Abigail by 1 ½ lengths in another $9,900 race. Another effort like that and it should be good enough to beat this manageable field on Tuesday afternoon at Will Rogers.
Post Time: 2:24 p.m. CST
Race 4 is a $8,250 event on the dirt covering 6 furlongs. Cash Kitten and Nacogdoches are likely winners in this event. Cash Kitten is 5 for 41 in his career, and coming off a bold performance for a win on March 30. He beat Proud Moments by a neck in a $8,250 event in that race. It was a nice response for Cash Kitten after going for 5th on December 12 in a $8,000 event. Cash Kitten has finished 3rd, 5th, 1st in his previous three attempts. He completed 4 furlongs in 48.13, 47.65, and 49.37 seconds in March.
Nacogdoches is a winner in 3 for 27 events in his career. In his most recent win, Nacogdoches beat Archrival by 2 lengths in a $9,350 assignment. This was after transferring from Remington Park and dropping in class. Nacogdoches finished 4th, 5th, 8h in three straight before getting the win. He finished 8th prior to heading to Will Rogers Downs. Back-to-back wins against this beatable field should be within reach.

Distance:5 ½ Furlongs
Race 5 is a $26,400 event covering 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt. Six horses are expected to run with Gospel Musketeer and Absaroka likely going close. Gospel Musketeer is going to be a threat from the outside down in class this afternoon. He has been struggling going 5th, 10th, 6th, 8th in his previous four attempts. Gospel Musketeer finished 6th in a $45,000 event on March 6. He returned on April 2 to finish 8th for a $51,000 purse. Gospel Musketeer was a big longshot in both races and showed nothing.
Absaroka is 2 for 11 in his career, with his most recent win back on December 21 in a $12,500 event by 1 length. Since the win, Absaroka has gone 10th, 4th, 5th, 2nd. I like what I witnessed from Absaroka on March 24. He placed 2nd behind Bourbon Wisdom for a $29,000 purse. Absaroka should run well with a better chance to win on Tuesday. It really depends if this class drop for Gospel Musketeer is enough. Despite those being tougher $45,000 and $51,000 events, he didn’t show much of anything, though. I’m going to back Absaroka to win in this spot.
