The Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers are at Globe Life Field for a three-game series in Arlington. The Orioles opened things with a 7-2 win over the Rangers. Cedric Mullins and Ryan Mountcastle both had a big evening at the plate, with 2 RBIs each.

Jon Gray lasted just 1.1 innings with 4 hits and 3 earned runs allowed. He was chased out of the game early, while Spenser Watkins pitched 6 innings with 5 hits and 1 earned run conceded.
Baltimore is entering Globe Life Field on Tuesday night with a record of 52-51. They got back over .500 with the win last night. As a result of their recent success, the Orioles have taken over fourth place in the AL East.
Baseball can change in a hurry, as the Red Sox have found out recently. Sometimes it is for the better or the worst. The Orioles have a half-game on the Red Sox going into today.
The Rangers carry a record of 46-56 into Tuesday night. This is a disappointing campaign for the Rangers, who were expected to do something more after the moves they made in free agency.
Jordan Lyles is scheduled to have the call for the O’s on the bump to open this contest. Spencer Howard counters for the Rangers at home. Head below for our free Orioles vs. Rangers prediction on August 2, 2022.

Orioles vs. Rangers Prediction:
The Orioles have holes to repair in their rotation before they really become a contender. This is a good pitching staff and much improved, but there are some weak lines. Upgrading from Lyles wouldn’t be a bad move for the Orioles.
I will give him one thing, Lyles is consistent. He’s just not consistently good enough to be a regular contributor. Lyles doesn’t stray too far from his career numbers.
Lyles is in good shape at home, though the road has been tricky work for him. At Camden Yards, Lyles has a 2.68 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. However, he’s looking to improve on a dreadful 6.12 ERA and 1.48 WHIP on the road.
He hasn’t been in his best form recently, with an ERA of 6.08 and a 1.88 WHIP. Opponents have notched a .400 OBP during that time.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers Betting Trends:

Rangers

Spencer Howard has been holding onto his season, but the floodgates might burst open soon. He disappointed with the Phillies, posting an ERA of 5.92, 5.72, and 9.70 ERA in three seasons.
In eight appearances in 2022, he’s notched an ERA of 5.93 and a 1.58 WHIP. He is coming off a strong performance against the Angels, but so is everyone else that steps on the mound.
The O’s are hitting .333 with 1 home run and 6 RBIs against Howard through 26 at-bats. They’ve had success and should hold up well with Howard on the bump tonight. I’m looking at OVER on a total that looks too short.
