Blue Jays vs. Orioles Pick – MLB May 19th

The Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles meet at Camden Yards for an American League matchup. If anything, this game is a lesson to people who jump to conclusions following a month of action. The Orioles were looking great, while the Blue Jays looked useless. Of late, though, the Jays have been springing to life and the O’s have been rather turbulent. There is a lot that can change still, so there aren’t too many conclusions we can draw, yet. I do know one thing, Jose Bautista must be breathing a sigh of relief as he’s been starting to best up.

Speaking of Bautista, he caused enough controversy in the Blues Jays previous series against the Atlanta Braves. Bautista thought it’d be fitting to do a mini version of his infamous bat-toss, with the Jays down by a few runs no less. With yesterday pending, which looks like a win, the Blue Jays are 6-3 in their last nine games. Overall they are 17-24, while the Orioles still own a healthy record of 23-15, despite going 1-6 in their last seven games. This will be my last pick from Las Vegas, so let’s make it another winner. For our Blue Jays vs Orioles pick, be sure to check it out underneath.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles Pick

Aaron Sanchez (0-1, 2.95 ERA) vs. Chris Tillman (1-0, 2.89 ERA)

The Blue Jays got a lights our performance from Marcus Stroman and Aaron Sanchez will look to duplicate that effort on Friday. Stroman even got into the act with a long ball to put the Jays up 8-0. Injuries have been problematic for their pitching staff, but they’re starting to come around. Sanchez has only 18.2 innings of work in 2017. His ERA currently stands at 2.95, with a respectable WHIP of 1.25. Chris Tillman has just 9.1 innings pitched this season.

Tillman owns a 2.89 ERA, but in those 9.1 innings things have gotten rather dicey for him. Note that 2.89 is impressive, but he’s been putting too many runners on base with a 1.71 WHIP. The oddsmakers have the Orioles inserted as the favorites in this matchup, which I can see, but I don’t like them at -125 against the Blues Jays. The way I see it, the value is on the Jays with this MLB pick.
