The Cleveland Guardians and Colorado Rockies will do it all over again tonight following a 4-3 win in extras for the visitors at Coors Field. Shane Bieber ran into trouble, but worked out of trouble enough times to help the Guardians.

Bieber allowed 9 hits and 3 earned runs in 6.2 innings of work. The bullpen took care of the rest for the Guardians. Antonio Senzatela was fine, too, with 8 hits and 3 earned runs allowed in 6 innings. Both starters worked hard to prevent runners from getting home.
It ended up being a low-scoring final score with all of the RISP left stranded on the basepads. The Guardians just edged out the Rockies to advance to 30-27 and 2.5 games behind the Twins.
The Twins were losers in Seattle last night, so the Guardians were able to get closer. This is a wide-open AL Central, with the White Sox, Guardians, and Twins all alive in the race.
I don’t think there is a team that is clearly better than the rest. Expect to see each of these three clubs go on runs and cold at times. A team coming out of the American League from the AL Central would be a surprise.
Unlike the Twins, the Rockies are in one of the toughest divisions in baseball. The AL East and NL West are tough places to be. The Rockies are 11.5 games behind the Dodgers.
Colorado has lost three of their previous five attempts going into tonight. That about sums up their season. They are medicore at Coors Field with a record of 16-17.
The Rockies are expected to send lefty Austin Gomber to the hill for this performance on Wednesday night. Fellow lefty Konnor Pilkington is expected for the Guardians.

Guardians vs. Rockies Prediction:
Konnor Pilkington is in the first season of his major league career. He’s spent time between the bullpen and the rotation, with the Guardians ultimately hoping to see him develop into a big arm as a starter.
He was drafted in the third round of the 2018 draft and is expected to play a role for the Guardians. It’s been up and down for the rookie thus far through seven appearances.
Pilkington didn’t hold up well at Progressive Field in his latest start. He allowed 4 hits and 4 earned runs in 5.2 innings of work.
The rookie is going into tonight with an ERA of 3.57 and a 1.54 WHIP. There is room for him to grow this season.
Pilkington is entering Coors Field with a 4.50 ERA and 1.86 WHIP in his previous three starts. His opponents have notched a .403 OBP versus him in 14 innings.
His best work is typically at home, where he owns a 3.12 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. Conversely, Pilkington has a 5.06 ERA and 2.44 WHIP on the road.
The Guardians may need to bring out the big bats to support Pilkington. Cleveland has been quietly underrated offensively, with 4.71 runs per 9 innings and a .250 batting average in the top-10.

Austin Gomber has experience on Pilkington, but his numbers haven’t been in the best shape. He’s going into this one with an ERA of 6.17 and a 1.42 WHIP through 59 innings.
Some pitchers on the Rockies don’t mind Coors Field, but Gomber isn’t one of them this season. He has a 6.21 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 29 innings of work.
The Rox don’t have the best bullpen for support following Gomber’s appearance. The bullpen has a 4.75 ERA and 1.40 WHIP, with only two clubs worse in the major leagues.
I’d consider a look at the total in this matchup. The OVER is likely the best place to look at Coors Field.
