The start for this one will come with the AL Series already two games deep, after game two of the Yankees v. Rangers. San Francisco @ Philadelphia will come live Saturday 7:30 PM ET, October 16th at Citizens Bank Park. The big difference between Doc Halladay and Tim Lincecum will be the fact of the veteran-laced lineup of the Phillies not being wowed by the marvelous arm of the Giants hurler. Whereas the Giants not having seen Halladay as much and not being aware of how much prowess he has earned because he is just that good.
The San Francisco Giants know that this series may in fact come down to home field advantage as these two squads split their series 3-3, with each home team going 2-1. Though the latest tilts have Philadelphia beating the Giants soundly. An unconfirmed ‘blister problem’ may hinder Tim Lincecum in this one, if he plans to go deep and go toe-to-toe with Doc Halladay. Lincecum was stunned early in the year as after going 4-0 to start the Phillies gave him his first blemish, a no decision came as a result after a stellar performance in a 7-6 loss. Though for which was no fault of his own, that may be the indicator in this one. Ryan Howard has had his number, posting 3 HR’s over his career and Jayson Werth looking poised to do the same.
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitching will be there, the back end of the bullpen, I am unsure. In a career building towards this moment, look for Roy Halladay to grab it once again. Though he stumbled earlier in the year against the Giants, Halladay will always keep his team in the game. Like his counterpart in this one, it was his first blemish after starting out 4-0. So both of these teams know that they can beat one another’s aces and will hold that as they battle to a predicted low scoring battle. Nobody has owned Doc in the Giants lineup, the only one with a big enough sample to gauge him correctly would be, longtime AL player Aubrey Huff. Who knows him well but can only boast mediocre numbers in 66 at bats with only one double and no home runs.

Giants vs Phillies NLCS Prediction for Game 1:
Moneyline Prediction (TOP PLAY) — With these two horses on the hill this would usually be a game to stay away from. Having both Halladay and Lincecum going 9 innings of shutout baseball and getting the wins previously. You must look deeper, into the lineups, boasting a truly National League type lineup the Giants have real character and a true motley crew of characters. They try to scare opponents with their best hitter being a rookie catcher in Buster Posey. But when you look at Phila. they have an unmatched winning presence and have a world class lineup filled with every hitter finding their niche and knowing exactly what to do in those key moments. A slight edge to Halladay after the no-no and a big one to the Phillies hitters.
MONEY LINE PREDICTION = PHILLIES to win (-165)
Game Total Prediction – These numbers are getting lower and lower as the pitchers in the first couple games of the seven gamers start to unravel. I cannot see any of these starters taking the total over four, but it is the back-end cover I would be worried about. But nothing risked nothing gained. I believe the number to be at the spot this one could end up, which is six. But the more likely outcome would be a nice and tidy 3-1 or something silly in extra innings and it being a 1-0 affair. A huge stat indicator and guiding force in me taking this pick. In all six contests in 2010 versus each other, there have been, at least six or more runs scored!
PREDICTION = OVER 6 Runs
