The Kansas City Royals are at Angel Stadium for a three-game series versus the LA Angels in Anaheim. The Royals are coming off a 4-0 loss to the Oakland Athletics at the Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

That was an uninspiring effort in a 4-0 loss as a favorite against a beatable A’s team. Brady Singer pitched well, with 6 hits and 3 earned runs allowed in 5.1 innings. However, the offense was lifeless in the series finale.
Despite the loss, the Royals won two of three games at Oakland, with a 5-1 and 2-0 win. They aren’t getting out of the basement in the AL Central, though.
The Royals are 23-42 and 13.5 games behind the Minnesota Twins in the division. It’s a tight division right now between the Twins having a one-game advantage on the Guardians.
However, the Royals aren’t going to get involved in the divisional race, and it most likely won’t be the case next year, either. The Royals aren’t pretending to be anything they aren’t, though.

The Angels are on the heels of a rare series win over the Seattle Mariners. They swept the Mariners following a 4-0 win on Sunday afternoon.
They were on a 14-game losing streak, but in much better form now. This is the Angels, though, so could they revert back to their losing ways?
The Angels are going into tonight at 33-36 and 9.5 games behind the Astros for the AL West. It’s all Astros, with 33-36 good for second in the division. Head below for our free Royals vs. Angels prediction on June 20, 2022.

Royals vs. Angels Prediction:
The Royals will look for a much better performance from Kris Bubic. This is supposed to be a big season for Bubic. It’s his third year with major league experience, with the Royals expecting him to take a leap forward.
Bubic posted an ERA of 4.43 in 29 appearances last year. He was fine, and there was some excitement regarding what he could accomplish this season. It’s been a disaster so far in 2022.
He’s allowing free passes to the base pads this season. Through 28 innings of work, Bubic has a .396 OBP. That’s too many batters finding their way onto the bases.
Road trips have not been a good time for Bubic. He has an ERA of 9.72 with a 1.92 WHIP and .400 OBP on the road.
Bubic has allowed 11 hits and 7 earned runs in his previous 9.2 innings of work. He’s coming off a 4-2 loss to the Giants last week.
They held the Mariners to just 2 runs in three games, with a shutout in the last two outings. After a brutal stretch, the Angels have won four of their previous five attempts.
KC Royals vs. LA Angels Betting Trends:
Royals
- Record (Last 10): 5-5
- 3-9 overall in their previous 12 games after a loss
- 5-13 overall in their previous 18 games versus a team with a losing record
- 3-7 overall in their previous ten games on the road
- 3-7 overall in their previous ten first game of a series
- 1-8 overall in their previous nine games at Anaheim
Angels
- Record (Last 10): 5-5
- 4-1 overall in their previous five games as a betting favorite
- 20-8 overall in their previous 28 games versus the AL Central
- 14-5 overall in their previous 19 games versus the Royals
- 8-1 overall in their previous nine games versus the Royals at home
- 7-19 overall in their previous 26 games
Noah Syndergaard is getting the call for the Angels at home tonight. After overcoming injuries, this looks like a win so far for Thor. Syndergaard is having a solid season with an ERA of 3.53 and a 1.18 WHIP.
Syndergaard has been strong and in control at home this season. He’s recorded an ERA of 1.48 and a 0.89 WHIP in 31 innings at Angel Stadium.
Syndergaard is still attempting to figure out how to get outs on the road, but he’s mastered Angel Stadium.
The Royals are 27th in the major leagues, with 3.84 runs scored per 9 innings. They are struggling in 28th with 0.74 home runs per game and a 0.664 OPS.
I’m backing the Angels on the runline at plus money. This looks like a fairly decent value play at Angel Stadium.
