Kansas City Royals vs. San Francisco Giants Pick – MLB June 14, 2022

The KC Royals and San Francisco Giants continue a three-game series at Oracle Park on Tuesday night.

The Giants opened with a 6-2 win behind the strong arm of Alex Wood. Wood was steady, with 4 hits and 2 earned runs allowed through 6 innings.

Brady Singer ran into trouble, but for the most part, was able to work out of jams. He ended the game with 2 hits and 2 earned runs allowed through 5 innings of work. Singer walked two batters in the bottom of the 3rd with the bases loaded for his only troublespot.

Singer was able to work out of that inning, but the bullpen allowed the game to get out of reach later in the contest. Arodys Vizcaino had the biggest problems, with 1 hit and 2 earned run allowed through 1 inning.

The Giants are on fire at the moment, as they showed no signs of slowing down after sweeping the Dodgers. Some teams will have a letdown following a big series, but the Giants followed up nicely in great form.

They’ve pulled within just three games of the Dodgers and Padres following a slow start to their 2022 campaign. The Giants are 34-26 and on a four-game winning streak entering this evening.

San Francisco wasn’t going to go away quietly after winning the NL West last season.

The Dodgers are at 37-23 and in a tie with the Padres for the lead in the division. They’re clearly a good team, but something feels off with the Dodgers this year. The Giants have every opportunity to repeat in the NL West.

The Royals are in the basement of the AL Central with a record of 20-40. There aren’t any surprises with this for the Royals. This was expected of them.

The Royals are expected to send Kris Bubic to the bump against Logan Webb of the Giants. Head below for our free Royals vs. Giants prediction on June 14, 2022.

Royals vs. Giants Prediction:

The Royals are looking for better from Kris Bubic this evening. Bubic is going into this one with an ERA of 9.13 and a 2.03 WHIP.

He’s appeared in eight games and hasn’t gotten a good feel for things yet. Bubic made his debut in the majors two years ago in 2020.

He finished with an ERA of 4.32 and a 1.48 WHIP. Bubic followed up with a 4.43 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 29 appearances last year.

Much more is expected out of Bubic this season.

He is going into Oracle Park with a 4.35 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in his previous three attempts. This seems like improvement, but it can’t get any worse than a 9.13 ERA.

He hasn’t been able to get into form on the road. It’s been his biggest problem, with a 18.00 ERA and 3.00 WHIP through 3 innings.

Bubic didn’t last long against the Mariners and Rangers, with 8 hits and 6 earned runs during those 3 innings. He will look to stay in the game longer against the Giants.

San Francisco is heating up recently and their bats should give Bubic some problems.

Maybe not as bad as those two starts, but the Giants should threaten against Bubic. The Giants are the fourth-best club in the majors with 5.02 runs per 9 innings.

KC Royals vs. San Francisco Giants Betting Trends:

  • Record (Last 10): 4-6
  • 1-4 overall in their previous five games versus the NL West
  • 2-8 overall in their previous ten games after a loss
  • 2-7 overall in their previous nine second game of a series
  • 5-14 overall in their previous 19 games after conceding 5 or more runs
  • 17-44 overall in their previous 61 games as an underdog

  • Record (Last 10): 7-3
  • 4-0 overall in their previous four games versus the AL Central
  • 4-0 overall in their previous four games at home
  • 6-1 overall in their previous seven games versus a left-handed starter
  • 4-1 in their previous five games versus the American League at home
  • 4-1 overall in their previous five games on a Tuesday

  • Logan Webb had a breakout campaign last year with an ERA of 3.03 and a 1.11 WHIP. He had posted an ERA of 5.22 and a 5.47 in his first two seasons in the majors.

Webb has everything down now and appears poised for a successful career.

He has been at his best with an ERA of 3.28 and a 1.29 WHIP. The 25-year-old should have a clear advantage over the 27th-best offense in the majors. KC has scored 3.95 runs per 9 innings.

The bullpen is unlikely to help Bubic. The Royals are among the worst in the majors, with a bullpen ERA of 4.86 and a 1.55 WHIP.

Singer did his best to keep the Royals in the game last night, but the Giants picked on a bad Royals bullpen after exiting.

Expect the Giants to pull away and win by at least 2 runs at home tonight. They should have a chance at a sweep on Wednesday.
