The Los Angeles Dodgers will try again on Tuesday night after getting shut out at Coors Field yesterday evening. The Dodgers looked empty after a thrilling win on Sunday Night Baseball.

They came from behind to erase a 2-0 deficit with 2 outs in the top of the 9th at Truist Park in Atlanta. The Dodgers’ Trayce Thompson knocked in 2 runs on a single and then proceeded for a 5-3 win in extras.
That’s on Kenley Jensen, but the Braves had opportunities to score more than 2 runs before it got to that point. They stranded plenty of runners on the bases.
The Dodgers showed no interest in playing at Coors Field last night. They had no energy and simply went through the motions against the Rockies.

Credit Rockies’ starter, Chad Kuhl, as he put together a strong performance at home. Kuhl went the distance and a complete game through 9 frames. He allowed 3 hits in the 4-0 shutout.
The Dodgers are still in good shape with a record of 45-27 and a 1.5-game lead on the San Diego Padres. Colorado is hot and cold this season at 32-42 and 14 games behind the Dodgers.
The loss last night was the Dodgers’ second in seven games. They get a big lift tonight with Clayton Kershaw assigned the start at Coors Field this evening.
Kershaw has the starting job while Kyle Freeland goes for the Rockies, so this is a lefty on lefty matchup at Coors Field. Head below for our free Dodgers vs. Rockies prediction on June 28, 2022.

Dodgers vs. Rockies Prediction:
Clayton Kershaw is probably what the Dodgers need to get back to winning after last night’s loss. The offense will likely come through for Kershaw, who is currently pitching in top form.
The big-armed lefty missed some time this season, but has been reliable through eight starts. He’s allowed more than 2 earned runs in only one performance.
He had trouble navigating past the Braves on April 18, but allowed 2 or fewer earned runs in six starts since then. That includes five starts where Kershaw was tagged for just 1 or no runs.
Kershaw should havea good handle on the Rockies’ bats at Coors tonight. He’s feeling pretty good and should put the offense in a good position to put up enough runs.
The Dodgers were silent at the dish last night, but this is the leading scoring offense in the major leagues. Despite the poor showing, the Dodgers are first with 5.11 runs scored per 9 innings.
It’s hard to see the Dodgers fail to generate offense in back-to-back attempts. Look at them to bounce back well against lefty Kyle Freeland.
LA Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies Betting Trends:
- Record (Last 10): 6-4
- 40-12 overall in their previous 52 second game of a series
- 5-2 overall in their previous seven games on the road
- 8-4 overall in their previous 12 games in June
- 47-15 overall in their previous 62 games on a Tuesday
- 41-10 overall in thier previous 51 games after scoring 2 or fewer runs
- Record (Last 10): 5-5

- 3-14 overall in their previous 17 games after a win
- 1-8 overall in their previous nine second game of a series
- 2-5 overall in their previous seven games versus a starter with a WHIP below 1.15
The Dodgers have notched 5 home runs and 20 RBIs versus Kyle Freeland in 177 at-bats. That’s fine, but Freeland is having issues at Coors Field this season.
Conversely, Kershaw has had a dominant arm on the road. He’s going into this matchup with a 1.24 ERA and 0.79 WHIP across 29 innings as a visiting pitcher.
The Rockies didn’t have to use their bullpen at all last night. That’s nice, though they’ll likely have to rely on them tonight.
Bad things tend to happen when the Rockies’ relievers are on the mound. The bullpen has a 4.72 ERA and 1.37 WHIP this year. Overall, the pitching staff is dead last, with a .274 batting average yielded.
It was a sleepy effort from the Dodgers after their flight from Atlanta to Denver. Expect a more composed and focused effort in the second game at Coors Field. Kershaw should lead the Dodgers to a win by at least 2 runs.
