The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants headline a four-game series at Oracle Park. The Giants are coming off a successful series against the Chicago Cubs, as they grabbed three of four wins at home.

Carlos Rodon was in great shape last night in Sunday Night Baseball. He went 7 innings with 2 hits and no earned runs allowed at home. Rodon also struck out 10 batters for a standout night at the office.
Four games aren’t bad considering the Giants are a .500 club. They have to be feeling fortunate that their chances of playing October baseball are still alive.
However, there’s still time left to get hot and impress down the stretch. A strong series against the Dodgers would help give them some confidence going forward. This could be a big turning point for the Giants, but it could also be their undoing.
It’s a big series against the Dodgers at Oracle Park. The Dodgers are coming off a 7-3 win over the Colorado Rockies and three of four wins at Coors Field.

Tony Gonsolin was solid enough with 5 hits and 3 earned runs allowed through 5 innings. He can be better, but the offense did well versus German Marquez and the bullpen. With the win, they have a 12-game lead on the Padres in the NL West.

Dodgers vs. Giants Prediction:
Andrew Heaney has been a pleasant surprise for the Dodgers this season. The former Angel is holding up well, as he’s in good form with an ERA of 0.47 and a 0.88 WHIP. I should say better than good form.
He was acquired by the Dodgers on the cheap after struggling with the Angels and Yankees last year. The Yankees took a chance on Heaney and it’s paid off well.
In his latest start, Heaney was in top form with 1 hit and no runs allowed against the Nationals in a 7-1 final. After his debut, he has notched a 0.60 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in his previous three attempts.
Logan Webb gets the start for the Giants and gives them a decent chance of getting the win at home. Webb is going into Monday night with an ERA of 2.91 and a 1.13 WHIP.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants Betting Trends:
Dodgers
- Record (Last 10): 7-3
- 7-1 overall in their previous eight games on the road
- 20-6 overall in their previous 26 games versus a right-handed starter
- 16-4 overall in their previous 20 games
- 4-1 overall in their previous five games versus the Giants
- UNDER is 5-2 in their previous seven games versus the National League
Giants
- Record (Last 10): 3-7
- 0-7 overall in their previous seven games versus the NL West
- 0-4 overall in their previous four games versus a team with a winning percentage better than 60%
- 1-7 overall in their previous eight first game of a series
- 0-4 overall in their previous four games on a Monday
- 1-4 overall in their previous five games versus the Dodgers
Webb should be fine in this one, but it’s never easy getting through this lineup without suffering any damage. The Dodgers have notched 10 RBIs against Webb in 91 at-bats.
They nearly gave up a 5-0 lead on Saturday, as the Cubs scored 4 unanswered runs and had the tying run on second base. It’s been a common issue for the Giants this season.
Heaney and Webb should pitch fairly decent in this one. However, the floodgates should open up for the Dodgers in the later stages on Monday night. I’m backing the Dodgers at Oracle Park.
