The Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners are at T-Mobile Park for the second meeting of a three-game series. The Twins opened the series with a 3-2 win in Seattle last night. Chris Archer was in good form, as he finished with 4 hits and no runs allowed.

The Twins are up to 36-27 on the season and have a 3.5-game advantage on the Cleveland Guardians. It was a slow start for the AL Central. For most of the year, the Twins were the only team with a record better than .500.
The Guardians are 29-27 and playing solid baseball recently. The division is very well alive and could go either way. It’s early in the season with plenty of baseball left to be played.
The White Sox are six games out of first, but I certainly wouldn’t give up on them this early. The Twins, Guardians, and White Sox could be close deep into the summer.
Even the Tigers might have an outside shot at getting involved. They’re currently 10.5 games behind at 24-36. The Tigers came into this season expecting to be more competitive. If they went on a hot run, it wouldn’t be surprising.
Seattle is behind the Astros by ten games and most likely aren’t going to be a threat. Robbie Ray regressing after signing with the Mariners isn’t helping.
The Mariners have lost five of their previous nine attempts going into the second game of this series. They’re looking to snap a two-game skid with Logan Gilbert on the mound.
Gilbert has developed into an ace for the Mariners. He will look to stay on the right page at home. Joe Ryan will go for the Twins on the road after missing some time. Head below for our free Twins vs. Mariners prediction on June 14, 2022.

Twins vs. Mariners Prediction:
Joe Ryan is off to a nice start in his major league career. After appearing in five games as a rookie last year, Ryan has a full-time role in 2022.

He showed signs of being a promising hurler last season. There were just a couple of things he had to clean up, and it appears that Ryan is well on his way to being a fixture in the Twins rotation.
Ryan is going into this start with an ERA of 2.28 and a 0.99 WHIP. He’s coming off back-to-back strong performances.
In his latest start against the Royals, Ryan yielded 5 hits and 1 earned run allowed in 5.2 innings. This was after Ryan contained the Guardians for 4 hits and 1 earned run in 6 innings of work.
Ryan is going into T-Mobile Park with a 1.61 ERA and 0.99 WHIP across 23 innings on the road. Note that the Mariners are hitting just .216 with 3.77 runs per 9 innings in their last ten outings.

- 1-4 overall in their previous five games after conceding 2 runs or fewer

Mariners

- UNDER is 7-1 in their previous eight games at home

- UNDER is 11-4-1 in their previous 16 games versus the AL Central
Logan Gilbert could get the Mariners a win with his arm. He is going into this one with an ERA of 2.41 and a 1.08 WHIP.
Gilbert hasn’t allowed more than 3 earned runs in 11 of 12 starts this season. He’s recently pitching some of his best baseball of the year, with a 1.89 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in his last three starts.
Ryan and Gilbert are two young starters that you’ll be hearing plenty of in the future. They should dictate the pace of this matchup at T-Mobile Park. I’d look at a play on the UNDER in a low-scoring game.
