MLB Picks July 29th – Yankees Indians, Mariners White Sox

Another profiting night in the MLB with our free picks from last night!  We went 2 for 4 with our underdog pick on the Athletics to beat the Rangers on the road cashing in with help from a great pitching performance by Cahill. Congrats to those who have been following our free picks – since we started posting them daily we have been profiting almost daily (I think one day with a very, very small loss).  If you haven’t already make sure you enter your e-mail on the left side in order to get our free pick of the week that we don’t post here on the site – we have been crazy HOT with these picks all year!  Below you will find my MLB picks for tonight (Thursday July 29th), enjoy!

MLB Picks for July 29th:

Seattle Mariners @ Chicago White Sox – The White Sox continue to roll at home making it 10 straight wins at home after another 6-5 victory over Seattle last night.  The Mariners will go with pitcher David Pauley tonight, who has only made three starts with Seattle this season.  Pauly is 0-2 in those three starts, but has a respectable 2.70 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP.  The White Sox send Freddy Garcia to the mound who only lasted an inning and a third in his last start against the A’s last week.  Garcia has been struggling lately with a 5.40 ERA in his last three starts.  I think Seattle sticks around in this game, and I like the run line play on the Mariners today.  PREDICTION – MARINERS +1.5 (-130)

Oakland Athletics @ Texas Rangers – We cashed in on the A’s last night as they tied the three game series at one win a piece going into tonight’s game.  Vin Mazzaro pitches for the Athletics tonight.  Mazzaro is 6-2 on the year with a 3.45 ERA, and is 2-0 in his last three starts with a 2.61 ERA.  The Rangers send lefty CJ Wilson to the mound who is 9-5 on the year with a 3.03 ERA.  Wilson has been pitching great lately supporting a 1.86 ERA in his last three starts.  The under is 10-3-1 in these two teams last 14 meetings in Texas, and the under is 12-3-1 in the Rangers last 16 games overall.  Look for the under trend to continue here with two solid pitchers on the mound.  PREDICTION – UNDER 8.5 RUNS (+102)

Baltimore Orioles @ Kansas City Royals – Definitely not the most exciting game on the board today, but I think I found a good place to cash in a winner.  The Orioles are fresh off of a three game sweep from the Blue Jays and have lost 5 straight coming into tonight’s game.  The Kansas City Royals are also coming off of a sweep from the Twins and have lost four straight games themselves.  Orioles send left Brian Matusz to the mound who has been awful as of late, going 0-2 in his last three starts with a 12.10 ERA.  Kyle Davies is pitching for the Royals, and  he is 5-6 on the year with a 5.52 ERA.  The team has gone 11-8 when Davies starts.  These two teams have split their first two meetings in 2010, but I like the Royals to take advantage of the Orioles coming into town in the first game of this series. PREDICTION – ROYALS TO WIN (-126)

New York Yankees @ Cleveland Indians – The first place Yankees look to pick up three wins in their four game series with the Indians, but what’s getting more attention is Arod going for his 600th career homerun.  Righty Dustin Moseley will make his first start on the year for the Yankees, as he has only pitched 10.2 innings of work as a reliever (4.22 ERA in those  four appearances).  The Indians go with Mitch Talbot who is 8-9 on the season with a 4.08 ERA.  Talbots numbers haven’t been too strong lately, going 0-2 in his last three starts with a 5.51 ERA.  The over is 5-2-1 in Talbots last 8 home starts, and 5-1 in the Yankees last 6 during game 4 of a series.  Although the first three games of this series have been under the posted total, I like today’s game to be high scoring with the possibility of Arod going deep for #600.  PREDICTION – OVER 9.5 RUNS (-110)
