The New York Mets and LA Angels converge at Angel Stadium for their second matchup. After the Angels ended a 14-game losing streak, they turned around and may have started a new losing streak.

The Angels couldn’t keep up in a 7-3 loss to the Mets last night. The Angels beat the Red Sox, 5-2, and then said we miss the feeling of losing. The Mets probably aren’t the team they wanted to see after exiting a long skid.
Following a 5-2 win, the Angels couldn’t handle the Mets on Friday night. Jhonathan Diaz put a lot of strain on the bullpen, as he left the game with 5 hits and 3 earned runs allowed in 1.2 innings of work.
The bullpen had to carry the load for the Angels last night. They will need their starter to go deep into this one, or it could be another long evening.
Megill left the contest after allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs across 3.1 innings of work. The Mets wanted to go to their bullpen earlier than they probably wanted, but they have more quality arms than the Angels.
Michael Lorenzen will look to put in extra work this evening. If he can’t do that, the Mets will thrive versus a tired bullpen.
The Mets are looking to go with Carlos Carrasco on the bump tonight. He’s gone through a lot the last two years, but is still a reliable pitcher. Head below for our free Mets vs. Angels predictions on June 11, 2022.

Mets vs. Angels Prediction:
The Angels most of the time, like what they’ve seen from Michael Lorenzen in his first season with the club. He has good numbers but can be streaky.
Lorenzen is either all or nothing. The former Red is going into tonight with an ERA of 3.69 and a 1.14 WHIP.
He was acquired on the cheap after a difficult year in Cincinnati. The Angels have seemed to “fix” Lorenzen after he posted an ERA of 5.59 with the Reds.
His only year as a starter in the majors was his rookie campaign in 2015. He finished with a 5.40 ERA and the Reds thought he’d be better as a reliever.
Since 2016, Lorenzen had only five starts with the Reds. He has already been on the hill for nine starts with the Angels, posting a 3.69 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.
The Mets are hitting .227 with 5 RBIs versus Lorenzen in 34 at-bats. He’s never seen this lineup hitting as well as they have this season.
This looks like a game where Lorenzen should be fine, but the floodgates open against the Angels’ bullpen. They don’t have many fresh arms for this matchup.
NY Mets vs. LA Angels Betting Trends:
Mets
- Record (Last 10): 6-4
- 4-1 overall in their previous five games as a betting favorite
- 7-2 overall in thier previous nine games after a win
- 4-1 overall in their previous five games versus a team with a losing record
- 11-3 overall in their previous 14 games on the road versus a team with a losing record
- 7-2 overall in their previous nine games after scoring 5 or more runs
Angels
- Record (Last 10): 1-9
- 1-9 overall in their previous ten games at home
- 1-7 overall in their previous eight games versus a right-handed starter
- 3-14 overall in their previous 17 games versus a right-handed starter
- 3-13 overall in their previous 16 games as an underdog
- 6-20 overall in their previous 26 games
Carlos Carrasco is a consistent operator for the Mets, as he enters this one with an ERA of 3.52 and a 1.16 WHIP. He’s going into Angel Stadium with a 3.57 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in his previous three attempts.
Carrasco should be in good form at Angel Stadium tonight. The Angels are hitting .247 with 1 home run against him in 27 at-bats.
It’s the battle of bullpens where the Mets should have a big edge. The Angels’ pen had to work extra had last night. They have a team ERA of 4.26 and a 1.21 WHIP.
Conversely, the Mets have a team ERA from their bullpen of 3.64 with a 1.22 WHIP. A tired Angels’ pitching staff is likely going to feel it tonight.
I’m on the Mets in a game that should be closer than last night, but still a win by a score of 6-4 or 5-4.
