Orioles vs. Indians Pick – MLB May 27th

Hands up, who had the White Sox and Indians as the most impressive teams in the AL Central? In a division dominated by the Royals and Tigers, the White Sox and Tribe have stepped up and answered the call. There is no doubts, if the White Sox keep their pitching hot, and it is almost certain Chris Sale will keep it going, the White Sox will keep pace. However, will Sale’s supporting cast keep producing at a high level? For the Indians too, they have been surprising us as well. They need Corey Klubar to regain some of his magic, he didn’t start too well but has shown signs of finding a groove.

Today Trevor Bauer will get the call for the Indians. He hasn’t been spectacular, but has been a solid option for the Indian rotation. If he can simply stay steady and not hit too many bumps, the Indians will consider his season a success. If you ask him he’ll probably tell you that he could bring more to the table. This is his fourth season in Cleveland after a season in Arizona. He has been fairly predictable in his work. Posting around an ERA of between 4.00 to 5.00. It’s been more of the same with him in 2016. Not great but not overly terrible either. The Orioles have been cold, while the Indians have been on a nice little winning streak. We’ll see what streak breaks tonight in Cleveland. Mike Wright will be on the Orioles.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Cleveland Indians Pick

Mike Wright (2-3, 4.97 ERA) vs. Trevor Bauer (3-2, 4.31 ERA)

This pitching matchup is vanilla ice cream at best, lets put it that way. Wright comes into Friday with a 4.97 ERA, he would be what you call on the fringe of having a terrible season to an average season. Wright is not giving the O’s much production, and recently has posted a 4.67 ERA in his last three games. On the road this season he hasn’t been too well with a posted ERA of 5.94. He showed up against the Angels in his last, but that has been the exception to the rule for him. In his first season as a pro a year ago, he sported an ERA of 6.04. So, he has some work to do to get to the level he wishes to be at.

I don’t know what it is about Cleveland for Bauer but he would rather defer the opportunity to pitch at home. Cleveland most certainly does not rock for Bauer. Away on the road, Bauer notched a 3.63 ERA. At home that number rises to a 5.14 ERA. It is going to be hot and humid in Cleveland this evening, balls should fly out of the park against these two pitchers. I want to take Bauer, but he hasn’t done anything for me at home. This should be a close game, with the ultimate winner getting their runs up on the board. I will be on the OVER 9 for my last bet in Vegas.

PICK: OVER 9 RUNS (-110)
