San Francisco got things started with an 8-2 win on Friday night. Jordan Hicks was fine through 5 innings, with 3 hits and 3 earned runs allowed. However, the bullpen offered no help.
The Cardinals responded with a 4-0 win behind a stellar performance from Dakota Hudson. Hudson went 5 innings of scoreless pitching on the bump.
Jakob Junis put in good work through 5.2 innings of work. Junis was tagged for 6 hits and 2 earned runs, but no run support caved in on the Giants on Saturday.
With the loss, the Giants dropped to 20-13 on the season, but remain within striking distance of the Dodgers and Padres. The Giants are just a half-game behind for the lead in the NL West.
Does this look like we could have a three-team race in the NL West this season? It’s setting up to be a thrilling season in this division a year after the Padres bowed out in a duel between the Giants and Dodgers.
Carlos Rodon and Adam Wainwright are in the saddle to open this one Sunday. Both look to go deep into the evening. Head below for our free Giants vs. Cardinals prediction on May 15, 2022.

Giants vs. Cardinals Prediction:
Adam Wainwright is aging like a fine wine that never seems to get worse. He is a 40-year-old who continues to put in work for the Cardinals.
Wainwright finished with an ERA of 3.15 and a 3.05 the past two years. He recorded an ERA of 3.05 and a 1.06 WHIP in 32 starts a season ago.
He’s off to another consistent start and on par with what he accomplished last year. Wainwright has a 3.18 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in six appearances in 2022.
His production at home has been in good form, as Wainwright has posted an ERA of 2.25 and a .222 OBA. Yes, Carlos Rodon is pitching well this season, but the oddsmakers aren’t giving Wainwright much respect. He had a very brief stint on the IL, but returns tonight.

St. Louis looks worth a look on Sunday night. The price doesn’t match what it should actually be at Busch Stadium. There looks like value on the Cardinals as home underdogs in this one.
