World Series Odds for Game 1 – Rangers vs Giants Predictions

The 2010 World Series is upon us and this one is set up to be pretty unpredictable with the winner still undecided as sports bettors continue to make their bets. First pitch for Game One is 7:57 PM ET, Oct. 27, Wednesday at AT&T Park, San Francisco, California. Both clubs with time off and through the obvious choice are going with their unquestioned ace’s. Cliff Lee is undefeated in the playoffs and in 2010 is 3-0 with a 0.75 ERA. Countered by Tim Lincecum at 2-1 with a 1.93 ERA and only the one blemish on his 2010 playoff record, with one not so stellar relief appearance.

The Texas Rangers after having won the series versus the Yankees with timely small-ball play and opportune pitching. Look to bring the same intensity to this series, says Ron Washington. Who has their homerun supply in his back pocket, if need be. Bengie Molina offers a clear edge for the Rangers as he was the Catcher for the Giants in 2009. A fact they will surely try to exploit as it is hard to know what to expect when inter-league play convenes.

San Francisco Giants have home field advantage and will need it. Not easily rattled the starter they are to face has changed homes frequently the last few years, a fact that hurts any advantage against. Cody Ross knows Lee well and is sure to share the information with teammates and continue his miraculous playoff performance. Look for Buster Posey to rise up and show why he is the top rookie in 2010. But if he relents, look for the Giants to struggle to score.

Rangers vs Giants World Series Prediction for Game 1:

Moneyline Prediction (Top Play) — Though I cannot get away from the fact of Cliff Lee being undefeated in his playoff career. I really see this one being decided late and giving these two starters the no decision. So I know that Cliff Lee is more likely to last longer than Lincecum, I just get that feeling. Both of these teams really get up for games that their number ones pitch. Which should always be the case in game one of the World Series, but isn’t always as the human element always resonates. I hear Vladimir Guerrero is to play the outfield in game one or two, which could help any over as he is not the fielder he once was and his bat adds to any lineup. Lincecum is great, but Lee in the playoffs is amazing, bet the Rangers in probably the hardest one to call in the series.

Run Line Prediction – Both these pitchers to go deep, their bullpens are predictably efficient at this point. Here is the tough part as these two teams are not blessed with the same amount of offense. Texas boasts big hitters and proven, maybe not in the playoffs, but they have proven to do well this post-season, whereas the Giants again struggle and need well-timed hitting from all and continue to juggle their lineup from game to game. This line is about as low as you can go and I know these pitchers will be sharp. Just hoping they can get to Lincecum earlier and go over the proposed total of 5.5 runs.
