The NBA is set up with another great night of action throughout February 15. Seven games are up on the board throughout Monday night. One of these games are between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Utah Jazz. These two teams have been great so far this season, which should make this a great game on Monday night. This game will tip off at around 9:00 PM Eastern time.
Philadelphia has earned a record of 18-9 to this point in the season, which has them sitting in first place of the Eastern Conference. The 76ers are up a game and a half on the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia has lost back to back games and will look to get back in the win column in this one. The 76ers need to grab this victory as they look to avoid falling further in the standings.
The Jazz have posted a record of 22-5 so far this season, which has them in the top spot of the Western Conference. Utah has been very dominate as of late, winning seven games in a row and eighteen of their last nineteen. The Jazz have been very good since their 4-4 start to the season. Utah will look to come out hot in this one to keep up their recent dominance.
These two teams have earned the top spot in their respective divisions, which should lead to a great game on Monday night. Utah has been the hottest team in the NBA without question as of late and the 76ers will be the next team to try and take them down. If Philadelphia can come out strong in this one, they could take a victory in this one.
The 76ers and the Jazz met up twice throughout last season. Utah hosted the first game on November 6. Joel Embiid finished with 27 points and 16 rebounds on the night. Josh Richardson added 24 points, which was not enough. Donovan Mitchell dropped 24 points, while Bojan Bogdanovic scored 20 points on the night. Joe Ingles put up 16 points off the bench as the Jazz won 106-104.
The second game of the season series shifted to Philadelphia on December 2. Rudy Gobert dropped 27 points and 12 rebounds on the night. Donovan Mitchell scored 18 points on the night. Tobias Harris finished with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Al Horford dropped 17 points, while Joel Embiid had 16 points and 11 rebounds. The 76ers were able to dominate for a 103-94 win in this one.
These two teams had a solid season series last season with the home team winning each game. Philadelphia was able to earn a win in the most recent matchup between these two teams. The Jazz will look to dominate on their home court in this one though. If either team can come out quickly on Monday night, it should be enough to grab a win in this one.
Field Goal Shooting
Philadelphia has been strong shooting the ball throughout the early stages of this season. The 76ers have been able to make around 48 percent of their shots from the field, which is 6th in the league. Philadelphia has shot 35.9 percent of their shots from behind the arc, which is 19th in the NBA. The 76ers have made 77.7 percent of their shots from the free throw line, which is 14th in the league.
The Jazz have been strong from the field as well to this point in the season. Utah has been able to drain around 46.6 percent of their shots from the field, which is 12th in the NBA. The Jazz are shooting 49.5 percent from deep this season, which is 4th in the league. Utah is making 77 percent of their shots from the charity stripe, which is 17th in the NBA.
These two teams have been strong shooting the ball so far this season, which has helped them earn their strong starts. Both teams have been strong on defense as well this season. The 76ers have held their opponents to a 45 percent from the field, which is 6th in the league. Utah is holding opposing teams to a 43.8 percent from the field, which is 2nd in the NBA.
Joel Embiid has been the leader throughout this season for the 76ers. Embiid is averaging 29.5 points and 11 rebounds per game. Tobias Harris has averaged 20 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Ben Simmons is averaging 14 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8 assists per game. Seth Curry has averaged 12.5 points per game as well this season.
Donovan Mitchell is the leader for this Utah team. Mitchell has averaged 24 points and 5 assists per game. Jordan Clarkson is averaging 17.5 points per game off the bench. Mike Conley has averaged 16.5 points and 6 assists, while Bojan Bogdanovic is averaging 16 points per game. Rudy Gobert has averaged 14 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Joe Ingles is averaging 11.5 points per game to round out this lineup.
The Jazz could be without Mike Conley once again as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Philadelphia remains without Shake Milton in this one coming off the bench. The 76ers will look for some players to step up. Utah has continued to play well without Conley, but the Jazz will likely need more help in this one as they meet up with a dangerous Philadelphia team.
The Jazz have been the NBA’s hottest team since a tough start and they will look to put another exclamation up with a win over the 76ers. Philadelphia will look to outduel Utah in the paint in this one. If the 76ers can come out quickly on defense, they could slow down Utah’s offense. I expect Philadelphia to try and set the pace as they look to end their short losing streak.
BetOnline has the Jazz listed as a -260 against the money line in this one. This implies that Utah will win this game around 72.2 percent of the time. The Jazz are coming into this one as hot as ever, but they cannot keep this up forever. The 76ers are on a losing streak, but I think they can knock off Utah. Philadelphia is huge underdogs, which I think is wrong. The 76ers have a lot of value entering this one.
