Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls Pick – NBA April 6, 2022

The Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls converge at the United Center on Wednesday night. Since the All-Star break, the Celtics have been one of the best teams in the NBA and looking for more tonight after a 144-102 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

The Celtics are streaking at the perfect time with wins in eight of their previous ten attempts. They were sleepwalking to open this season, but are only 2.5 games behind the Miami Heat for the lead in the Eastern Conference.

No doubt that the Celtics are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Since the All-Star break, the Celtics have gone 15-4 and are playing team basketball.

The talent is on the floor for the Celtics, though it took them a minute to put everything together. Remember when Marcus Smart was not happy with the touches he was getting early on this season?

The locker room was not seeing eye-to-eye at the time, but that’s a distant memory, and the Celtics are working as a cohesive unit. Now that the Celtics are humming, they could be difficult to slow down in the playoffs.

There are only three games left this season for the Celtics. They are running out of time to catch the Heat, but in a tie with the Bucks and 76ers for the second seed.

Boston is still playing for something in these final three games. The Bulls are playing for the fifth seed over the Raptors. They’re down by a game going into tonight.

Celtics vs. Bulls Prediction:

The Celtics are making it work on both ends of the floor. When the Celtics are doing that as a team, they’re one of the tougher teams to beat in the NBA.

The defense is especially dangerous for the Celtics. Marcus Smart was not thrilled with his role early in the season, but everything has come full circle.

Smart has recently turned his energy into helping his team rather than bickering with his teammates. He’s helped lead the Celtics to the best mark in the NBA on defense.

Boston has allowed 104.3 points per game and a 43.3% field goal percentage. Both are good for the best in the NBA.

They are also second in the league from the perimeter. Teams are shooting just 33.9% from three versus the Celtics.

This could be tough for a Bulls squad that depends on their efficiency from around the arc.

Chicago is sharp from the field with a 47.9% field goal percentage and a 36.7% from three. However, the Celtics likely won’t provide much room for the Bulls to operate freely.

Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls Betting Trends:

  • 5-1 ATS in their previous six games on the road
  • 7-3 ATS in their previous ten games
  • 5-1 ATS in their previous six games versus a team with a winning record
  • 7-3 ATS in their previous ten games as a road favorite on the road
  • 4-0 ATS in their previous four games versus a team with a winning percentage better than 60% at home
  • 5-14 ATS in their previous 19 games
  • 3-9 ATS in their previous 12 games after a loss
  • 1-10 ATS in their previous 11 games versus a team with a winning percentage better than 60%
  • 2-5 ATS in their previous seven games after a loss by more than 10 points
  • 3-7 ATS in their previous ten games versus the Bulls

The Bulls are beatable on the defensive floor, and the Celtics should be able to exploit holes tonight. Chicago is 26th in the NBA with a 47.2% field goal percentage and a three-point percentage of 36.3%.

Boston is 13th in the league, with an average of 111.2 points per game. They’re efficient from the free-throw line with an 81.7% field goal percentage for the second-best in the NBA. That will be helpful in the playoffs.

Finding second-chance points is not easy for the Bulls. They are 28th in the league in offensive rebounding. The Bulls live by making their shots the first time, but Boston doesn’t afford teams a strong field goal percentage.

I’m pointing towards the Celtics to win and pull away to cover on the road at the United Center.
