Dallas Mavericks vs. Washington Wizards Pick – NBA April 1, 2022

The Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards are on the floor at the Capital One Arena on Friday night. Washington is looking for their fourth win in their last five outings tonight.

On Wednesday, the Wizards are coming off a 127-110 win over the Orlando Magic. After a 107-94 loss to the Chicago Bulls, this was a nice response. It’s only the Magic, but a much better effort.

It’s been a tough season for the Wizards. They are going into tonight with losses in nine of their previous 13 attempts. Even when they had Bradley Beal on the floor, things weren’t go+ing well.

At 33-43 going into tonight, the Wizards have to start thinking about next year. Six games are remaining, and they are looking in at the play-in tournament on the outside.

It has been an expected season for the Wizards. If you were to ask me where they’d be right now, this looks like pretty much the place at ten games under .500.

The Mavericks have three straight wins and five wins in six games. They’re coming off a 120-112 win at Cleveland on Wednesday. That’s a good win on the road.

Dallas also had a good win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday. The Mavs were in good form with a 114-100 win in that one.

They are going into tonight with a mark of 48-29 and are the third-best team in the Western Conference. The Mavs appear to be streaking at the right time.

Mavericks vs. Wizards Prediction:

The Mavericks have one of the toughest defenses to solve in the NBA. They are good with 104.3 points against per game, and opponents find it difficult to operate on the perimeter versus the Mavericks.

Dallas is second in the league with a 33.8% three-point percentage against. An uninformed fan would probably believe that the Mavs are all offensive fireworks.

This isn’t true, though, as the Mavericks win games with their defense. The presence of Luka Doncic always makes the Mavericks a dangerous team on the offensive end, though.

Doncic is always a threat to go off in a game for the Mavericks. He is averaging 28.1 points per game and a 45.7% field goal percentage going into Friday night.

This should be a Doncic game against the Wizards. Washington is 17th with 111.4 points allowed per game. They’ve been pretty solid in their last five attempts, with 108.6 points against per game.

However, I don’t have the most confidence in the Wizards keeping it going. They are also going to have to be stingier, considering the defensive test that the Mavericks are going to employ.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Washington Wizards Betting Trends:

  • 5-1 ATS in their previous six games
  • 5-0 ATS in their previous five games as a betting favorite
  • 3-1-1 ATS in their previous five games as a betting favorite on the road
  • 6-2 ATS in their previous eight games on a Friday
  • 7-2 ATS in their previous nine games at Washington
  • 4-12 ATS in their previous as an underdog
  • 3-8 ATS in their previous 11 games as an underdog at home
  • 1-4 ATS in their previous five games versus a team with a winning record
  • 2-6 ATS in their previous eight games versus a team with a winning percentage better than 60%
  • 1-6 ATS in their previous seven games on a Friday

For as mediocre as the Mavericks have been with 107.1 points per game for 26th in the NBA, they have been efficient recently. Dallas notched 113.4 points per game and a 48.6% field goal percentage across their last five attempts.

They beat up a pretty good Cavaliers defense in their most recent outing. The Mavs took it to Cleveland in a 120-112 win. This was after recording 128 points in a 128-110 victory against the LA Lakers.

Dallas is feeling good at the moment and should handle the Wizards in this one. I’m looking at the Mavs to leave Washington with a 114-103 win or thereabout at Capital One Arena.
