The Denver Nuggets wrap up their short two-game road trip with a stop in the Bay Area against the Golden State Warriors. On Sunday, they had a 103-100 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
That was another Michael Malone special for the Nuggets. Malone has a special way of blowing big leads and fighting in the final seconds of games, though the team is struggling with depth problems.
The Nuggets went nearly 7 minutes without a point and scored just 15 points in the 3rd quarter. They are shorthanded, but that can’t happen against a Clippers team that is even more shorthanded than the Nuggets.

Denver’s offense without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. throws the ball at Nikola Jokic and hopes for the best. When Jokic is off the floor, and Malone seems to bench him at the worst times, the Nuggets spiral out of control.
Aaron Gordon was listed as probable early in the day and then doubtful closer to tip-off. The Nuggets officially have Gordon listed as questionable in the Bay Area tonight.
They need him in the lineup against a Warriors team that can leave a team in the dust if they go cold for a few minutes. Depending on Jokic exclusively has left the Nuggets prone to blowing leads and going cold.

Golden State is coming off a 116-107 win over the Phoenix Suns on Christmas Day. It was an impressive display on the road as the underdogs.
Despite playing against a much healthier Suns squad, the Warriors pulled ahead. They are up to 27-6 on the season and have a game lead on the Suns in the West.

Nuggets vs. Warriors Prediction:
The Nuggets need to get bodies back on the floor to help Nikola Jokic. It’s really simple for opposing teams right now. Take away Jokic and dare the rest of the Nuggets to win.
That’s easier said than done. Taking Jokic out of games is a daunting task, though it’s hard for him to do everything in the current state of the Nuggets’ roster.
Even if Jokic gets his triple-double, if he doesn’t score 40 points a night, then the Nuggets will probably be in a fight.
Golden State has continued to play quality basketball on both sides of the court without a full team on the court. I’ve especially been impressed with the defense.
Stephen Curry’s offense gets the headlines, but their defense is winning games. Golden State leads the NBA with 101.2 points allowed per game and a 42.7% field goal percentage.
Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors Betting Trends:
- 1-4 ATS in their previous five games
- 1-6 ATS in their previous seven games after a win
- 3-7 ATS in their previous ten games as an underdog
- 0-5-1 ATS in their previous six games at Golden State

- 3-1-1 ATS in their previous five games after a win
- 22-7-1 ATS in their previous 30 games as a favorite at Golden State

The Warriors are on a three-game winning streak, winning six of their previous seven attempts. Along with leading the NBA in defense, Golden State is fourth in the NBA with 111.6 points per game.
They are shooting 47.2% from the field and 36.7% from three. Curry’s ability from the outside has helped put the Warriors near the top of the league in three-point percentage.
Opponents have shot well versus the Nuggets this season. They have struggled, with teams connecting at a 46.7% clip from three land for 25th on defense.
The offensive prowess for the Warriors at home only improves. They have netted 115.7 points a game, with a field goal percentage of 48.5%.
With the Nuggets still shorthanded, I can’t see Jokic doing everything against the Warriors. I like the Warriors to pull away at a point in this game where the Nuggets go cold from the field.
Give me the Warriors to win and cover the 7.5 points for a double-digit victory.
