PF: Zach Randolph: (5,000) Randolph returns tonight after missing seven straight games, mourning the loss of his mother. The Grizzlies desperately needed the big man back with this team dealing with so many injuries to key players. He has been great as The Grizzlies’ six man this season, averaging 26.5 DK points in 22 minutes. Tonight he will take on The Sixers (24th vs PFs) at home, who will be without their two best bigs, Jahill Okafor (illness) and Joel Embiid (rest). Randolph should bully this defense and could be in line for some extra playing time and usage if Marc Gasol is rested after logging 46 minutes in a double overtime win over The Pelicans last night.
Even if he wasn’t rested, he would still most likely have his minutes monitored by this Grizzlies coach staff. I think we see Randolph play around 30 minutes after being rested for almost two weeks, with potential for even more if he ended up starting for Gasol. He averages 1.2 DK points per minute this season, and if he plays 30 minutes we can expect 30+ DK points out of him at a very affordable $5,000 salary. Also this is going to be a very emotional night for him and he may have some extra motivation to play great in his mother’s memory.
PF: Richaun Holmes: (3,600)/PF: Ersan Ilyasova: (4,600): With both Okafor and Embiid out tonight, there is a ton of usage and minutes to go around for this Sixers team. They will only dress ten players and Holmes should start at center vs The Girzzlies with both big men out. (10th vs centers) This is obviously is a very tough individual matchup with Marc Gasol (if he plays), but The Sixers need Holmes to be on the floor because he is the only true center available on this roster. Holmes will produce if he sees the minutes, as he is averaging 1.03 DK points per minute this season. With this team so thin up front, Holmes has to play close to 30 minutes tonight, and should produce 25-30 DK points with upside if he records a double-double.
Starting PF Ersan Ilyasova should also see as many minutes as he can handle tonight. He is a much better offensive player than Holmes and has a higher ceiling, but comes at a higher $4,600 price tag. Point per dollar, Holmes is the better value, but both players are exceptional plays tonight vs The Grizzlies. There is definitely some blow out risk with these players, but their salaries are just too cheap when factoring in the workload they will have tonight. I would say five out of the ten active Sixers are in play tonight, but these are by far my favorite two, and I have no problem playing both in the same lineup on Tuesday night.
SF/PF: Jeff Green: (3,700) Green has looked like a different player in the last two games, scoring 28 DK points vs The Sixers, and 24.25 DK points vs a tough Pistons defense on Sunday. He just returned, after missing one game with a back injury, and is now coming off the bench instead of starting in place of Aaron Gordon. The reserve role has obviously helped Green, and he has seen huge increases in his usage in these last two games.
His usage rate has jumped from 20% to 27.6% and his rebound percentage has risen from 7.5% to 11.6%. Green now averages just under 1.0 DK points per minute and has the potential to score 20-25 DK points tonight vs The Wizards. (21st vs PFs) Green is not a recommended cash game play, with the low floor he has shown this season, but he is player who will be very low owned and could help you in GPPs tonight.
Also Consdier: Troy Daniels (he’s on an absolute roll right now, would also see extra usage if Gasol or Tony Allen were rested), Dario Saric, Sergio Rodriquez, Nik Stauskas, JaMychal Green (if Gasol rested), Josh McRoberts (boost if Luke Babbit remains out), Tyler Johnson (only if Josh Richardson remains out), Zach LaVine, Justin Holiday (if Courtney Lee out), Rodney Hood, Ricky Rubio, Elfrid Payton, and Bismack Biyombo.
